President of the White House Correspondents' Association Margaret Talev defends the decision to have Michelle Wolf as the comedian at the dinner, saying "she had a message to deliver and she did." Talev also said she hoped "those 15 minutes" do not "define four hours of what was a wonderful and unifying night."
Wolf's set has been criticized by both CNN and FOX News.
"I think she brought to the night what she thought was important to say, and her goal may not have been press unity and everyone rallying around to support journalism," Talev also said.

She was the headline speaker, but please please don’t think the WHCD committee and attendees who knew she was going to be the headline speaker had anything to do with it.
All that laughing, it was just being courteous to the headliner. They didn’t think it was truly funny.

I watched the full nineteen minute performance. There was nothing funny in her bit. I'm really not sure what message she had to deliver other than abortion jokes (if such things are possible) and the occasional f-bomb and bad p*ssy puns.

Was this as bad as Wanda Sykes - another black female so-called comedian who has never been funny - wishing for Rush Limbaugh to get cancer? This event has always been rife with poor taste and vile performances.
What happened to Jeff Dunham or Rich Little? Surely someone can do this gig without totalling their career...
