FRESNO, Calif. -- A California State University, Fresno professor who called Barbara Bush "an amazing racist" and cheered her death will not be punished, the president of the university announced Tuesday. Randa Jarrar was acting as a private citizen using her personal Twitter account so her remarks didn't violate any California State University or campus policies, Fresno State President Joseph Castro wrote in announcing the results of a review.

Why? Whos going to risk jail time because of what this tub said about Barbara Bush.?
Did he really say that?
If so, he deserves what he got just from a common courtesy standpoint.
Was he trashed when he said that? Sounds like bar talk.
Common decency is apparently not a policy of this university. The protected classes must forever be sheltered, all others are fair game.
What does “racist” even MEAN, anyway?
Republican
She was just saying what they were all thinking anyway.
Of course she’s not going. She just said what they promote. Face it universities in this country are fascist indoctrination institutes for communism.
But she will be promoted to department head and is in the running for chancellor, right?
Jeb?
That means he's a professional bureaucrat that thinks he knows what's best for you as long as he can keep feeding at the public trough ahead of everybody else, which of course, is best for you.
I’m sure Hillary would hit that too.
“Was he trashed when he said that? Sounds like bar talk.”
The articles that quoted Roger Stone claiming that Barbara Bush was a “vindictive drunk that is going the hell,” did not cite Roger Stone’s BAC when he made that statement.
I think we need to start demanding equal representation in universities. 50% of the population is republican, 50% of professors should be as well. After all, they receive taxpayer money.
...does same protection apply if students attack her on social media?...
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
No.
Only leftists are protected by law and the court system.
Cite precedent? Cases of Bill,Hillary,Chelsea Clinton proving above the law for conservatives and little people beneath them.
on: all institutions have rules against embarrassing the institution....

If that place is notd already embarrassed by a clownish professor acting like her and looking like that with her hair color and PLO scarf, then what would embarrass them? Maybe a professor who said Trump has done some good things in office. Out with him this afternoon!!
Actually this is good. If she’d been punished it would be carte blanche to punish any conservative speech. Let her keep talking.
Personally think free speech on her own time is free speech and should not be punished. However we also have freedom of association both with this so called professor and her university. I sincerely hope no one signs up for her classes and her university sees an appropriate drop
In their revenue/enrollment associated with the rest of our rights of free association. Let the consequences of her words be the punishment
Right of free speech means one must accept consequences. If a company feels an employee is giving them a bad name, they can fire. And if not, those who disagree can refuse to patronize the business.
1st amendment allB—s government can’t prosecute (well, there are cases like thr FCC and profanity on TV or radio etc)
Walmart hires a greeter who tells customers to go F themselves.Employee is fired.B-b-but what about free speech?
1st amendment means...
Good.
Now when some one else said equally nasty thing about Hillary or other notable liberal women/men, they should also get a free pass.
But. We all know that would never happen in today’s world.
