We should probably be thankful that the Dems were booted out of office before this went from mandatory calory counts to mandatory calorie limits, or taxes (for our own good) on any orders exceeding certain calorie limits.

Hey Jim, I understand your conundrum with pizza law, but here is my pizza law.

Chain franchises who make and sell pizza really suck. Particularly Dominoes, Papa John's, Little Caesar's, and Cisi's.

He doesn’t list 34 million different pizza combinations on his menu, so he doesn’t have to provide nutritional information for them. He lists crusts, toppings and probably a handful of pre-configured pizzas such as supreme, meat-lover, veggie, etc.

I don’t think it’s all that burdensome.

Pizza contributes to Climate Change.

To be environmentally responsible eat nuts and beans, and a few insects and plant roots(especially weeds) wouldnt hurt.

"Corporate, quick, I need a calorie count on a large cheese filled crust with pepperoni, ham, triple bacon, ground beef, sausage, double cheese, green peppers, banana peppers, onion, mushroom, spinach, feta, pineapple, tomato, olive, anchovy, and garlic".

Dominoes could do this easily for him. All the entries are put in via computer now anyway, writing the software to compute it while they give the order and have it at their fingertips when the order is placed.

All this just in case some bothersome worrywart wants to sweat whether it’s fattening or not. (It is, trust me)

Hell, a cheap laptop with all of the options available right there in the lobby so they can look it up on their site (or ask a kid who works there to do it for them if they’re computer illiterate) would still be an cheap option wouldn’t it?

Actually our local Walmart neighborhood store has these $8 super-size pizzas that I get occasionally. They are fresh not frozen and basically the equivalent of two pizzas. Not bad.

I don’t understand why Trump’s guys are implementing these stupid assinine Obama regulations.

I just make mine at home, no problem. In the last two weeks I’ve made stuffed crust with bacon and just cheese on a pizza stone, Sicilian pizza and I tried a new idea for garlic bread pizza as well.

Simple enough for Domino’s to calculate all those combinations and send them out on 3x4 index cards to all their franchises to be taped on the menu wall.

I suppose they could create a list of all their individual toppings, showing the average calorie count for that topping on each size of pizza they offer. Then people could do the math themselves...

...oh, wait, I said “do the math themselves”. Never mind.

Better to just sue the FDA in federal court for overstepping its authority; or lobby president Trump to gut the requirement.

Trying to pin down and quantify the caloric content of any given pizza combination would be prohibitively expensive, and would risk a mom and pop operation being fined out of existence for not weighing their ingredients down to the fraction of a gram.

This whole mandate just wreaks of lawfare and eliminating competition through lobbyist lawfare from large fast food chains.

Forget for a moment what you think about any given pizza or pizzeria, this is all certain groups about using the government to eliminate their competition.

Seems like they could post the caloric value of individual ingredients for each size pizza and save a lot of effort...or even a calculator where folks could “build your own” and let the calculator add up the value of the ingredients in case they are “New Math” victims....
