Former Sen. Tom Coburn endorsed Republican candidate Mike Braun on Monday in the Indiana Senate race.
Like myself, Mike is a social & fiscal conservative who supports term limits, Mr. Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, said in a statement. As a successful businessman, Mike brings the very knowledge and background that is badly needed in our U.S. Senate today.
Mr. Coburn was known in the Senate as a budget hawk and published a yearly Wastebook to show some of the more ridiculous examples of government spending. He also made term limits his major policy initiative both while he served in office and after he retired in 2016. He proposed an amendment that would only allow House members to serve three terms and senators to serve two terms, but the measure was never voted on.
Mr. Braun said he was happy to have the support of a like-minded, fiscal conservative.
Senator Coburn stood for everything that I will in Washington the Constitution, cutting spending and the debt, and getting Washington out of our lives, Mr. Braun said in a statement.
Indiana is considered among the more competitive Senate races this year with Sen. Joe Donnelly, a Democrat, trying to keep his seat in the red state.

Braun is a faker. He is a RAT and has always been a RAT until this election.
Really?? I looked at the other two’s voting record and was unimpressed. Then I saw Coburn’s endorsement. Thought he’d be a good guy.
Coburn represented my state in the Senate, and I was furious ~ wrote him about his vote FOR the Porkulous Bill, he replied with Lame Excuse. I have never forgiven him for that.
Nope, he is not. You don’t see a voting record for him because he is a RAT.
Truth is, they all suck.
I was quite taken aback upon hearing about his voting in Dem Primaries up through 2012.
He’s spending a crapload of (his?) money on TV and radio ads, and has been doing so for months.
while Rokita and Messer fight each other harder than they ever fought a democrat.
My niece and I were figuring Braun is coming up with RAT money. They win the seat either way.
The ACU rates both members of Congress and state legislators on their voting records. Their website is down at the moment, but I’ll try to get Braun’s rating for you.
Who are you supporting ?
So far, none of them make me happy. They have a nasty race going and Braun seems to be spending a lot of money getting really nasty lately.
My In-Laws reside in Indiana, and they’re supporting Congressman Rokita.
As am I. Mike Braun’s brother is running for Rokita’s congressional seat. The Braun brothers are democrats.
Seems likely this is the Cheap Labor Express candidate.
I plan on term limiting him by not voting for him.
Yes, they do. Braun is fake and the other two are swamp dwellers. Not much to choose from here. Although despite Donnelly being allowed to stray from the collective farm for show purposes, the only thing we get with a GOP Senator is another vote for confirmation of Trump's judicial appointments. Otherwise useless.
Which goober are you choosing?
Which goober are you choosing?
Holding my nose and voting Messer. Rokita is a hothead and Braun is a novice on the national scene with no polish. Both have too much potential to say something stupid like Mourdock and self-destruct their campaign. That’s the only reason we have Donnelly to begin with. Messer least likely to do that.
Otherwise nothing to chose from between them.
I’m fairly new to Indiana. I haven’t got the perspective of long time residents, but I’m willing to hear what Hoosiers think of each candidate.
For a while, I thought Rokita. Then I thought Braun, but figured I’d better check into voting records. Now I’m leaning towards Messer. Didn’t he just nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize?
Yes, Coburn turned out to be a big disappointment. I think he was snookered by the DC establishment.
