Good for Paul, I wasn't confident he'd change to a yes vote.
Who would become director of CIA? Bill Binney would be excellent (if he was interested) but too many deep state believers in both parties.
I was confident. He realizes that Trump’s previous statements on foreign policy are what need to be focused on.
Great for Rand!!!!! And great for Trump.
Well said and agree.
He was just confirmed — breaking on Bloomberg.
Pompeo Wins Surprise Support by Senate Panel to Lead State Department
Self defense lessons.
Amen...The RATS have taken partisanship to a new level of hateful partisanship.
And just like clockwork, once there's a 'rat president (even a crackpot leftist like Bernie Sanders) Republicans will fall in line to vote "yes" and show how "bipartisan" and "statesmanlike" they are.
Absolutely disgusting on both counts.
Thanks for posting and the heads up.
Senator Chris Coons did the honorable thing under the circumstances in my view letting Mike Pompeo advance.
Hopefully a coming action that will make Lindsey Graham, John McCain, CNN and other members of the pro-war party very unhappy. Like Senator Paul has repeatedly stated, President Trump in the campaign was very much against future Mideast adventures.
Brit Hume said the same thing - he had to vote or Kentucky would have been angry.
Yeah. What a guy.
And why would anyone care what you think?
Easy to be a bombastic nobody demanding “perfect political purity” hiding behind the anonymity of the web.
Leaders don’t have the luxury of hiding out in their mo’ms basement hanging out on the web all day playing “Monday Morning President.”
Yep.
“under the circumstances...”
Nope Chris Coons of Delaware voted present since Issacson is in GA for a funeral.
So basically he was saying that he didn’t trust Trump’s judgement to choose a Secretary of State who agrees with him and will support his agenda. Now he’s changed his mind. Sheesh! Rand just shut up and watch. Trump’s got this.
You know, I still have it in the back of my mind that it really is none of the Congress’s business who the presidents choose as their cabinet members. If I wanted to select person A to be my sec of state, to hell with the congress. What do those fools have in rights to tell the president whom he can choose to advise him on the various departments heads. Who the president selects to the many other cabinet offices should be the president’s choices. Why should those fools have the right to say No to A, but you can have C or D. What if he did not want B, C or D??? If the prez feels that A is his better choice, then he should get to choose whom he wants. He won the election. He has a right to select who his advisors are. Just one man’s opinion. I know there are many who will disagree, but oh well.
I am so glad! We need a strong person at state.
I posted that in next post under what you replied to. You’re late to the party.
I think I heard Britt Hume (a big disappointment) today say Iran Nuclear BILL. No, Brit, it was a deal by Obama alone.
