Attorney General Jeff Sessions informed the White House that he may resign from his post in the event that President Trump fires Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, according to a new report.
Sessions notified White House counsel Don McGahn of this during a phone call last weekend, sources told the Washington Post.
During the phone call, Sessions sought information about a meeting between Trump and Rosenstein and was relieved to hear that the meeting was primarily pleasant, and mentioned that he would have to weigh resigning if Trump fired Rosenstein, a person familiar with the call told the Post.
Jeff should go back to Birmingham and spread his enlightenment there.
Sounds like a deal !
Fire one and get rid of both of 'em!
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY! SAVE AMERICA!
While I don’t doubt Sessions has been compromised. This is the Washington Post and could very well be fake news.
Rosenstein committed a felony when he signed off on getting a FICA warrant to spy on Trump knowingly using fabricated data. No freaking way he should be DAG.
He has also been dragging his feet in getting Congress the docs Congress has requested to see. All in all Rosenstein is an enemy of the people and if Sessions has his back then Sessions, beside being stupid and incompetent, is also an enemy of the people.
The most telling aspect of the story will be Sessions’ silence. He is so passive and deferential to Rosenstein [during his last congressional hearing Sessions kept punting all the important questions to RR] that not even his most ardent supporters predict a response.
Sessions: the Washington Post said what about me? Hmm... Well hand me the Asset Forfeiture file; I have work to do.
obama?
Good point. Triple E has a thing for Sessions and it’s not normal, bordering on creepy.
The idea that the Attorney General is so far out of the loop that he has to call the White House Counsel’s office to find out about a meeting his deputy had with the President is interesting...in a sadly pathetic sort of way.
‘Pathetic,’ being the key word, and I completely agree.
Rule #1, never admit defeat. That would backfire on Trump in a big way especially for the 2018 mid term optics.
elhombre needs more than meds.
At this point I question whether Sessions even knows what being an AG means and is clueless.
The possibility has been floated that senility is setting in. It’s probably untenable, politically, for Trump to request Sessions to undergo a thorough physical.
Here is how Trump deals with fake news.
Trump tweets April 21:
“The New York Times and a third rate reporter named Maggie Habberman (sic), known as a Crooked H flunkie who I dont speak to and have nothing to do with, are going out of their way to destroy Michael Cohen and a relationship with me in the hope that he will flip.’
“They use non-existent sources and a drunk/drugged up loser who hates Michael, a fine person with a wonderful family. Michael is a businessman for his own account/lawyer who I have always liked & respected. Most people will flip if the Government lets them out of trouble, even if it means lying or making up stories.
Sorry, I dont see Michael doing that despite the horrible Witch Hunt and the dishonest media!
[Don’t hold your breath waiting for a tweet debunking the WaPo-Sessionsin story; it will not materialize.]
I personally like how PDJT deals with fake news. I'm just calling bullshit on the fake news media industrial coplex (tm) is all.
If the WaPo is lied (yet again) about Trump’s cabinet/Sessions, Trump would call them out. He calls fake news out consistently; it’s to his strong advantage to undermine his most hate-filled critics.
If the WaPo is lied
=
If the WaPo lied
I am detecting senility from a fantasy writer. She keeps repeating herself. Hope she sees a doctor soon.
Her delusions are painful to watch.
Abusive ad hominem; the trademark of Sessions fans.
not just Rosenstein— assuming he did. You somehow know who has signed what warrants (by inference from some other sites, and analysis- recall that so did Yates). You forget the presence of Rogers- still in office. Pre-supposes just about everything you have “written” dare one say it— in “fantasy”. Maybe we should call John Grisham to “tease out” more interesting stories for bored wannabees and career bureaucrats with dreary lives.
In replying this way you expose similarity to virtually every other mavens of the “in the know” who know... zip. Check out Louise Mensch and her fellow circle jerkers of “likers”— it’s a business plan. Constantly wrong.
Some here have been here a long time (even longer than their refreshed “start” date). Some from the days of Vince Foster’s murder— during Bill Clinton- and have been in the fight internally since then in many different capacities. The deep state is in throes of re-organization and... desperately fighting back, and making mistakes. This is an op- another vacuuming. Deo Vindice.
