New York Times reporter Amy Chozick has further evidence that the Hillary Clinton campaign wanted President Donald Trump to win the Republican primary.
In her new book, Chasing Hillary: Ten Years, Two Presidential Campaigns, and One Intact Glass Ceiling, Chozick reports that Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook was looking for ways to improve Trumps chances of winning the primary in a crowded pool of candidates including Marco Rubio, John Kasich, and Jeb Bush.
Chozick writes: An agenda for an upcoming campaign meeting sent by [Campaign Manager] Robby Mooks office asked, How do we maximize Trump?
She explains further that when the main GOP debate aired, Mook got close to the television and said, Shhhhh, Ive gahtz to get me some Trump. At the time, Chozick says, Mook thought Rubio would win the nomination.
When Trump ended up being the man to beat, Chozick says that the Clinton team focused in on improving her low favorability ratings, writing that Clinton became dispirited as time went on and said to a friend: Whats the point? Theyre never going to like me.
On election night, Mook informed Clinton that she could not win. In response, Chozick writes, the Democratic nominee said: I knew this would happen to me. They were never going to let me be president.

She did marry the guy who made it all the way to the White House.
In 1975, Bill Clinton's chances of making it all the way to the White House might have been worse than Donald Trump's.
I can't think of anything she did on her own that worked out very well, though.
Mook got close to the television and said, Shhhhh, Ive gahtz to get me some Trump.
And he did. Hope he likes it.

That's exactly right. The dem media annointed him at the very beginning and crowed over the fact that he had "75 percent of the money folks". The candidate they didn't want at that point was Scott Walker.
Maybe Hillary’s people weren’t so bad after all...I also wanted Trump to win in the Primaries.
“Beware of what you want, you just might get it.”
So not only do the Democrats have to sue Trump Campaign, Russia, And Wikileaks for 2016 shenanigans, they have to sue the Clinton campaign as well???
And:
Maybe the 16 last-place Republican Primary losers whould sue it, too
I was one of those. Trump never topped 49% in any of the first 16 GOP Primaries, and I (correctly) surmised that he would not take 50% in the General.
Thankfully, he won, handily, in the count that mattered - the Electoral College. I had hoped, but never imagined, that he would be THIS kind of force for the principles of limited government. I continue to be extremely happy to have him in office, hopefully for 6.5 years more.
They gonna be on the hit list for sure. I guess they are the American voters, we all need to watch our backs. 8>)
History repeated itself. Thanks goodness Democrats ignore history. 8>)
I knew this from the get go....that is one of the reasons I was not a fan of trump at the beginning.....and everyone think about this...who do you think it was that got Donald trump to host Saturday night live t the beginning of the primaries....Hillary operatives... how come CNN was so nice to trump during the primaries....hint it was not because roger ails called and said don’t give Trump hard questions.....this all changed when hllary realized she had made a mistake, at the beginning f the election Hillarie’s hubris and mot understanding the American people got her to try and arrange it so that when she ran it would be either Ted Cruze or Donald Trump . funy hing is that theses two probably were the best ones for getting a solid base....I think she was terrified of john Kasich or ben Carson.
the reasons were very different for her to not want theses to run against them ....ben Carson it was because if just 30 percent of the black vote went to him she could not win and Kasich it was because she mistakenly feared a moderate progressive republican.
Because the arrogant beyotch didn’t think he had a chance again her. Hoisted on her own petard.
Yep - the Dems backed the wrong horse - ironic that if a lot of us had gotten our initial choice in Cruz, we would likley have lost - bigly....
Well this is something we will never know, but I disagree. I think if Cruz had gained the nomination, he might have squeezed out the win. Hillery's negatives were just too high and if Cruz had topped the ticket, his intellect in the debates would have given the Dems a whole lot of trouble.
I was a Cruz fan, not because I thought he was saying better things than Trump, but because I thought Trump, a neophyte in the political arena, would never be able to pull it off. I was also put off by the fact that, as a born and bred New Yorker, his true views were probably far to the left from the speeches he was giving. It was my assumption that his true views would be guiding him if he won. I mean, GW Bush said he was a conservative too.
However, when Trump did win the nomination, I was four square in his corner. I put his sign in my yard, I sent a few bucks, and I tried to talk my friends and co-workers into supporting him. Why? Because the thought of a Hillery presidency scared me to death.
I still liked what Trump was saying on the stump and I just crossed my fingers and hoped he wasn't just another panderer for my vote.
Well, 15 months into Trumps first term and I'm here to tell anyone, "I was wrong during the primaries." I could not be more pleased with the job he is doing, and barring some kind of extreme turnaround, I will be pleased and excited to vote for him in 2020.
I'm also pleased with the job that Cruz is doing in the senate and I'll be more than pleased to vote for him in the 2032 election, after Mike Pence's two terms are up.
I started out heavy Cruz and sent hm over $500 in the early stages before seeing that Trump had the better track - Cruz went off the rails for a while there but seems to be back to being Cruz which is a good thing. Trump had more cross-appeal vs. the more hard core Right - I think Cruz would have lost a couple States Trump edged out. and disaster would have ensued.
Yeah .but he got 43%
Trump touted and taunted the MSM during one of his rallies
"The MSM thinks that I am some sort of idiot for not getting 50% in the pols...but I got 43% ...
(43% is control of a fragmented market (16 competitors) for those in Rio Linda)
