I agree.
The USAF prime rule for any emergency was:
“Maintain aircraft control
Analyze the situation and take proper action.
Land as soon as conditions permit.”
I am sure the Navy’s direction was essentially the same.
That pilot did what she was trained to do.
He or she had to in order to get the wings.
