California State University's Fresno campus is investigating after one of their English professors tweeted she was "happy" former first lady Barbara Bush was dead just an hour after her passing was announced.
The author and professor, Randa Jarrar, tweeted a slew of comments about Bush, calling her "a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal."

Bush, 92, died Tuesday night just days after her family announced her health was failing.
Amid the backlash to her tweets, Jarrar, who also said she "can't wait for the rest of [the Bush] family to fall to their demise," said that she couldn't get fired from her job at Fresno State because of tenure.

I work as a tenured professor. I make 100K a year doing that. I will never be fired. I will always have people wanting to hear what I have to say," she wrote on Twitter.
The university's provost, Lynnette Zelezny, referred to the professor's comments as "disrepectful" during a news conference Wednesday, and said the school is taking the situation "very seriously."
"We understand the concern from the community and we are taking this very seriously," Zelezny said, according to The Fresno Bee. "To answer the technical question: Can she not be fired? The answer is no."
Fresno State has reportedly not been in contact with Jarrar, who has been on a leave of absense during the spring semester.

These are the types of people the Bushes tell: “we wish you are successful”.
I find it very hard to defend the Bushes on this. They might as well Schiavo themselves and eat cyanide at this point
“She brags about making $100K. Lol”
Yeah; that’s pretty funny. It’s not much, but it’s way more than she’s worth. And she truly thinks she can do ANYTHING and retain her jov just because she has tenure.
“To answer the technical question: Can she not be fired? The answer is no.”
What the heck does that mean? So much for higher learning.
The fugly-a$$ bat fitch will not be fired. There is one standard for fat ugly America-haters, and another for normal people.
Get your kids signed up and accepted at FSU....it's a happenin' place ! Do it soon, before they go out of business.
If Rosie O Donnell had a girl...
Isn't that ironic; a poorly phrased sentence coming from an "instantuition of hire lerning".
A high end study for employers was conducted years ago. There were three profiles of potential employees that was recommended to never hire. One profile was morbidly obese people, not elderly and with no physical condition causing the obesity. The reasoning was, they are generally unhappy, and mean spirited, moody and did not get along well with others.. Additionally, the study claimed that in most instances there were underlying emotional issues that created the obesity. They missed work and were tardy at a much higher percentage.
Fresno should have hired this profiler first.
Tenure will ultimately ruin American Universities.

She needs to be fired. Disgraceful.

Randa Jarrar was born in 1978 in Chicago to an Egyptian & Greek mother and a Palestinian father.
She grew up in Kuwait and Egypt.
After the Gulf War in 1991, her family moved back to the US, living in the New York area when she was 13.
Jarrar studied creative writing at Sarah Lawrence College, receiving an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin,
and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan. She has taught College Writing, Creative Writing, and Arab-American literature.
"Fresno State's a majority minority school," she describes. "Many of my undergraduates are brown: Latinos, Asian Americans, Muslim Americans.
They're first generation college students. Or they're children of migrant workers. Or they work full time, and parent."On April 17, 2018, on the death of former first lady Barbara Bush, Jarrar described her as "an amazing racist" and boasted that she will "never be fired"
for her harsh words, because she had tenure at Fresno State University.
Jarrar responded to condemnatory replies by saying "I'm happy the witch is dead".
She was widely criticized for her actions, though these tweets can no longer be viewed as the account is now private.
Fresno State president Joseph Castro responded to widespread public outrage, saying "Professor Jarrars expressed personal views and commentary
are obviously contrary to the core values of our University, which include respect and empathy for individuals with divergent points of view".
As of April 2018, she was on leave from the university.
I wonder how the large Fresno Armenian community think of her.
