News that CIA director Mike Pompeo secretly flew to Pyongyang to meet with Kim Jong-un shortly after his nomination as secretary of state was leaked to the Washington Post yesterday. The timing could not be better for helping along Pompeo's prospects of confirmation. And the symbolism of the date for celebrating the Resurrection was not lost on the huge Christian communities of both Koreas. South Korea is a majority-Christian country, and even in officially atheist North Korea, Christianity's significance should not be underrated. During the awful period of Japanese occupation of Korea, Christianity was a major banner uniting Koreans in resistance, and it retains a flavor of righteousness that endures. The forthcoming negotiations are in no small part a psychological game, and these small symbolic issues matter more than most Americans understand.
The Pompeo-Kim meeting was virtually confirmed by President Trump. Seated next to Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, he spoke of "direct contacts at very high levels ... extremely high levels" and stated that "a lot of good things are happening." This is incredibly good news, though with North Korea's track record of broken promises and deception, President Trump's caution in adding, "We'll see what happens" is fully justified.
The master showman Trump is already teasing the world audience by creating a mystery over where the first ever meeting between the heads of the United States and North Korea will take place, mentioning that there are five finalists (to use beauty pageant terminology – which is perfectly appropriate, considering where the master showman cut his teeth on staging global televised events).

Close, but it happened in neighboring Malaysia.
Meeting will be limited to whatever range the NOKO airlines can reach - which isn’t far, unless Un takes a Chinese plane and the loss of face that would bring.
I’d say that despite the announced locations, the meeting will take place on the DMZ where it would be appropriate to announce the rumored end to the Korean Conflict.

Look, I know it isn't neutral turf, however it is a place to schmooz Kim, feed him good, and maybe teach him to play golf. The Sun and the warm weather might do him some good too.

It’s interesting that the focus now seems to be on how to get Kim to the meeting. If I were him, I’d not fly on either of those two Russian “flying trash cans.” Besides, I thought Kim was averse to flying anywhere. Maybe Trump will have to stop in Pyongyang and pick him up in AF1.

Hanoi was also mentioned as a possible site for the meeting. Actually that might not be a bad idea. I can also see Mongolia as a good spot.

They can make a side-trip down to South Beach. Trump can introduce (aka hook-up) Kim to some Brazilian supermodels or some drunken spring breakers from Wisconsin.
Trump can fly in a few cases of Havana Club rum and some boxes of cigars from Cuba.
Kim might like it so much that he’d agree to anything Trump proposes to him!

There is/are alcohol (plenty of it) and prostitutes in Singapore. I’ve drank the former there and been propositioned by the latter there. The alcohol is heavily regulated but quite plentiful (stay away from the truly awful Singapore Sling) and in certain very restricted areas the prostitutes are even more plentiful...if you traverse the correct block, there will be one literally every three feet on the sidewalk.
I heard that he hits one golf ball and it bounces in and out of every cup on the course. One stroke, 18 holes in One!
