Big ones....Military trained!! Nothing but the best!!
We endeavor to teach our children to be leaders, not lemmings she says.
Bravo!
Wow.
> “This is a true American Hero, McBride wrote.”
Understatement of the year.
I listened to the tape - her voice was incredibly calm.
Good job Captain. This should secure your position for the duration.
Looking forward to the Clint Eastwood movie!
Impressive lady. The daughter of our friends is a military pilot with an amazing job. Her personality and demeanor seem to be similar to this pilot’s. She’s also a devout Christian. Watching her grow up in our church from a very little girl to a strong, smart young lady was special.
Wow !
Who do you want landing the plane?
Her? or Him?
If you can land a plane in the dark on a pitching carrier deck and catch the third wire, I'll fly with you any day.
I think she dropped down to slow calm speech to deal with the stupid government ATC hirelings that kept making her job more difficult. They behaved like idiots.
You have two choices in that situation, as a pilot, be calm and follow your training guided by situational instinct or panic and give in to fear.
I trust that our naval aviator training and Air Force training that produces our front line pilots weeds out the latter and produces a lot of the former.
This woman is in fact a hero. I know from an engineering standpoint these planes can fly on one engine but I also know if I were on a passenger and saw a blown up engine on the port side I wouldnt want to continue to test my belief in that engineering.
Absolutely amazing outcome.
Amazing stuff. Cant say enough about the heroism, skill, and professionalism of the pilot.
In typical fashion, the Washington ComPost left out a key quite that Fix News did cover.
“Shults, a Christian, once said in an interview that sitting in the captain’s chair gave her “the opportunity to witness for Christ on almost every flight.”
She sounded like it was just a “walk in the park”... one engine out, passengers hurt and compromised cabin..... Navy Air trained her very well and she was just flat out awesome.
Way to go, Tammie Jo!!!!!
Hope President Trump invites them to the White House.
He probably will.
Great job by Ms Shults.
Small world department: my brother in law, also former Navy pilot, knew her. She was an instructor at Miramar. While I strongly disapprove of women in combat, I have to respect the way she handled yesterday’s crisis. My BIL now flies international routes for another carrier.
Small world department, part 2: the woman who was killed on the plane was a friend of my sister’s. Originally from Vermont, but lived in NM for 20 years. Two children, 3rd and 4th grade. Pray for her.
