The pilot

“Looking forward to the Clint Eastwood movie!”
As long as Tom Hanks isn’t in it.
Anyone who watches Air Disasters (Mayday, Air Emergency, etc) knows this!
Yep, true pro.
I am sorry for your sister! What a terrible thing to happen for her children.
I agree women should not be in military - definitely not combat - but I will never withhold my high respect and gratitude to those who indeed VOLUNTEER to do it when it’s being allowed. (My favorite cousin was an Army soldier.)
Unfortunately, our “progressive” media will bury this story as soon as possible because she is a Christian. The fact that the pilot was a woman should be as an example by the feminists, but she won’t be given the hero treatment that lesser liberal woman get because of her faith.
African American.
I've long believed US Navy carrier pilots to be the best trained in all the world. They train day and night. This woman is a shining example of that training and her own skills and demeanor.
I originally had a problem with female aviators after the "Tailhook" incident years back. They have since shown to be as capable as any man to operate advanced aircraft systems. However, I am still adverse to females in grunt billets.
Absolutely. She is a true hero.
Good job. No, off the charts job. From preliminary reports I thought the engine had fallen off. She saved lots of lives.Very sad regarding woman who perished.

She is a fine lady and a good pilot. But I have a couple of points:
1. Why is the work of the other pilot in the cockpit not mentioned at all?
2. I can’t see her really as a hero. She did a fine job but she did what she was paid to do — follow emergency procedures she was trained on.
There is a kind of weak bigotry here in remarking on her calmness. Was she supposed to squeal and panic because she’s a female?
Agreed, other than the male package...haha.
Humility. Hmmm, what is that? Didn't that once have something to do with not flaunting your inner self-confidence? I get confused because modern American society is obsessed with the in-your-face-look-how-bitchen-I-am celebrities.
I'll bet when this pilot is interviewed, she will say she was just doing her job.
Something about a woman in a Nomex flight suit is so hot.
Text book landing in an air emergency. This extremely capable airman, the female Southwest Airlines, Captain, followed the emergency operations rules book to a “tee”. God bless her and all the air traffic control professionals that assisted her landing.
Thank you Captain.....you are truly a professional airman from top to bottom, inside & outside!!! Those of us in the Aviation industry call you “Hero” and we are maximum proud of you actions and performance under severe operating distress.
C'mon, he did a good job in the movie, Sully.
My friend who is a Delta pilot says the only reason a pilot is necessary these days is to handle emergencies.
Remarkable pilot....proud of her. Prayers for the Wells Fargo exec who was “partially” sucked out of the plane and the passengers who saw it. You can leave the rest to your imagination.
Take a cold shower, dude.
