A decent person speaks the truth.
Some of you people sound frighteningly like the left. “You must say only what I approve of or you MUST not say anything at all!” “But... but... but that’s not DECENT!” some of you will hyper-ventilate. Well, too bad. We don’t HAVE to be “decent” according to YOUR definition of “decent.” This is a public opinion forum and people are here to express their opinions - NOT to be shut down because of some self-righteous control freaks.

I'm not sure yet what that something is, but it says something that this thread has had unusually many deleted posts. Maybe some of them truly were from trolls, but many of them were probably from people who consider themselves "decent" and "truthful."
If any of you readers express your opinions poorly (and if you object to my choice of wording, I have to be truthful), expect your post to be deleted.
This forum was never some nearly untrammeled "free speech zone"; don't expect to promote leftism here, for example, without suffering the consequences. And if we rightly question the tone of the usual friendly leftists, we should probably avoid sounding like them.
There’s more going on here than that.
A site like this is made up of many different types of people. Frequently posts show up containing sentiments or language that some people just don’t want to be associated with.
So they have a choice: leave FR in a huff, which is throwing out the baby with the bathwater; or forcefully object to what they find unacceptable, and disassociate themselves in that way.
It’s just how fora like this operate.
