I think the guy’s right in what he said and did, but I believe having the cops arrest and haul off the two black guys wasn’t the best idea. Should have just told the cops that lending him a hand in giving them the bum’s rush out the door would do the job.

We have been reading that the two men defied the cops when the cops asked them to leave, and that is why they got arrested.
Why couldn’t they buy something?
Why couldn’t they leave the store when the cops asked them to (if not before) and wait outside for their friend?
From everything I’ve read, they refused to leave even after the cops showed up. They were trying to get arrested.
