Fox News host Sean Hannity was revealed as having been a client of President Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen during the latter's court hearing Monday. Cohen was appearing in a Manhattan courtroom just days after the FBI raided both his home and office as part of their criminal probe.
Hannity responded on his radio show, noting that the headline was a big nothing burger. Hannity has known Cohen for a long time and has sought his legal advice from time to time, but "not one" of those issues involved a matter between him and a third party.
Michael Cohen has never represented me in any matter. I never retained him, received an invoice, or paid legal fees. I have occasionally had brief discussions with him about legal questions about which I wanted his input and perspective.
I assumed those conversations were confidential, but to be absolutely clear they never involved any matter between me and a third-party.
In response to some wild speculation, let me make clear that I did not ask Michael Cohen to bring this proceeding on my behalf, I have no personal interest in this proceeding, and, in fact, asked that my de minimis discussions with Michael Cohen, which dealt almost exclusively about real estate, not be made a part of this proceeding.
"How did this blow up to be such a big deal?" Hannity asked.
He predicted that the media is under the impression Cohen must have done "a big settlement case" for him.
Hannity's Fox colleague Juan Williams noted on "The Five" that perhaps he should have revealed his relationship with Cohen sooner.

At today's hearing, Judge Kimba Wood told prosecutors they needed to turn over the documents they seized from Cohen's home and office to his legal team so they can determine how much of it is protected under attorney-client privilege.
“The question for me is why Sean didn’t disclose this earlier.”
why? is it anyone other than Sean’s business?
Is there any legitimate explanation for this story leaking? It looks to me like yet another abuse of the FBI’s powers by the Deep State. I am disgusted.
I think his talents are more in line with licking toilet bowls.
It is considered good ethics for a reporter to say when they are connected to a case. For instance, when a local radio station talked about Clear Channel, they will say that they (the station) are part of Clear Channel.
For all this freak out, I wonder what they have in those files. Or rather they think there is something rather specific there.
Amendment 4
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Comey obviously doesn’t give a sh*t, nor does the judge who signed the warrant.
Would YOU buy a car from Williams?
In a court case wherein no wrongdoing has yet been alleged the judge requires that the attorney “defendant” must reveal the names of all of his clients.
The judge requires that Sean Hannity’s name be revealed as one of those clients even though Hannity says he has never retained Cohen, never been billed by Cohen and has never paid Cohen for legal advice. Hannity’s name is publicly released as a client of Cohen’s. Not even an allegation of wrongdoing is mentioned.
But what people are upset about is that Hannity didn’t publicly disclose that he had a few private conversations with a well-known NY lawyer. Even FReepers are telling me that’s what bugs them most.
Thanks for the visual.
Braun bleach, stat!

Used cars.
Not in a million years.
Sean has made some bucks.
He is in a perfect position for filing law suits that would give him discovery rights.
He wouldn’t prevail as federal funds are unlimited but a hornet can sting. Be the hornet Sean.
I think you are referring to George Stefanopolis's disclaimer at the beginning of his shows.
I admire him for his openness.
Now you would be thrilled if they raided the attorney of Obama or an appointee.
Id love to see the conversations Juan Williams lawyer had with him..what kind of juicy details we might find out..but Juan would just complain and say its racist
I had to chuckle when I was reading through the reasons and case citations for the reasons for non disclosure. Embarrassment was one of them. Cohen’s legal team for whatever reason thought disclosure of Hannity being a client of Cohen would bring embarrassment.
What connection does Sean Hannity have with this case?
If there are FReepers freaking out about it, then they're the limp wrist crew. Why would anyone bother to mention random conversations about real estate, which involved no money changing hands? Especially when Hannity has (I think) even had Cohen on his show and has expressed 100% support for Trump and his people? What would be the point of saying, "I asked Cohen over coffee once or twice about buying a house."
