“It’s a profit deal”
Here’s the real agenda — the need for “billions”. Massive tax increases funneled into government and NGO programs controlled by these people. Its all about control and enrichment on the backs of the taxpayer.
More excuses to raise taxes to buy more votes to elect more Democrats to vote to raise taxes to buy more votes to elect Democrats to vote to raise taxes to buy more votes to......
Well, something needs to be done. We’re freezing to death! :)
And the Lemming march straight to the sea. Headshake.
NOBODY is this STUPID?
Guess I was wrong, they are.
Now even the left can’t keep the secret that “Global Warming” is simply a way to increase taxes without oversight or review.
What does Global Warming have to do with Water and Sewer maintenance?
You ever get the feeling your living in the final chapters of Atlas Shrugged?
Great! UMass can take the $2.4 billion it has no doubt received in government money and pay for it.
” The possibility of a Boston climate resilience fee based on water and sewer bills, which could fund city general obligation bonds. “
Nothing to do with climate whatsoever.
MWRA (Mass Water Resource Authority) already charges outrageous fees.
Government greed and corruption at its finest.
Can you imagine everyone in this food chain from the Muni Bond promoters to all civic orgs, getting a piece of this 2.4 Billion and how many advocacy jobs they'd create with store fronts etc vs. installers of solar panels or heating and cooling up grades and retrofits?
BTW the State of MA for better of for worse has "MASS SAVE". They will come in, ( especially if you are low income elderly ) upgrade you to LED's and insulation and they have an assistant program to upgrade your furnace and they will help pay somewhere between 30 and 40% of it.
Seriously that is good stuff in a way, but what more will this program do? That State is all over you now, look at the Tax Increases they noted. hmmmm.....
Federal funds? Count the rest of our states out of this local/regional boondoggle. MA should have stolen enough during the grotesque scam of the Big Dig to have lasted at least 100 years.
If MA goes under water when the sea ice melts, it will be good riddance .
As Midwest winter wheat is looking bad from this extended winter.
And as other scientists see a possible 50 year cooling period from old Sols Grand Minimum.
How DO we disable all the proggies lies?
“Dear Uncle Sam, Send more money. Thxbye.”
As if i didn’t have enough reasons to leave MA....
No problem. The ivy league schools have that much cash tucked away in their endowment funds. They could cover the cost with one payment.
■ The possibility of a Boston climate resilience fee based on water and sewer bills, which could fund city general obligation bonds.
■ The creation of climate-focused District Resilience Improvement entities, modeled after Business Improvement Districts, which would capture revenue from those who would most benefit from resiliency actions.
■ The creation of a Climate Resilience Finance Implementation Working Group for the metro Boston region, to advance climate adaptation measures
We should be in awe today as we witness the birth of the latest and newest climate buzzword -- RESILIENCE. I expect this to rapidly take off and maybe begin to replace "sustainable." Who could possibly refute the need for civilization to ne "resilient" just in case climate disaster strikes. To liberals, the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" wasn't a fantasy flick; it was a prediction and we must be RESILIENT as we prepare for all possibilities, no matter how infinitesimally small the probability:
Put a Cilmate Change Readiness tax on all Massachusetts college tuition until the state is ready! I only pray its not too late!
Maybe U Mass should contribute some of their various endowments and trusts to the cause.
These people know the clock is running out on this scam. The Sun is about to give them a very rough lesson in just what actually causes “climate change”.
We need a stop on all Federal grants to schools and professors which result in recommendations for growth of taxation, regulations or government size.
