Survey of Chemical Attacks in Douma on 7th April 2018
Bellingcat ^ | April 11, 2018 | staff

Posted on 04/11/2018 1:09:51 PM PDT by gandalftb

On April 7th 2018 reports began emerging of alleged chemical attacks on the city of Douma, in the rebel held pocket of Eastern Ghouta, Syria.

Reports indicated that a significant number of people, including children, had been killed by these attacks.

This report will assess and verify the open source information regarding these attacks, and draw conclusions from the available evidence.

Based on the available evidence, it is highly likely the 34+ victims killed in the attack on the apartment building near al-Shuhada Square were killed as a result of a gas cylinder filled with what is most likely chlorine gas being dropped from a Hip helicopter originating from Dumayr Airbase.

I don’t support Putin or Assad. I support Trump when he is talking (and doing) like he did on the campaign trail. I despise false flag attacks and deception. We have NO right to be in Syria. It is the scumbag never Trumpers and neocons who automatically translate opposition to our Syrian intervention as being support for Putin.

.
CS is not a WMD, but CN is if used inside of a building.

In a confined space it is not survivable.

Who should we bomb for the actions of the USgov gassing the branch Davidians?

I asked this question many times before, and the response I get from the interventionists is that the Davidians deserved it.

Trump is doing exactly what he said he'd do and what is did once already last April. What I don't get is the hostility of everyone, which does mean supporting Assad, Putin, and others.

I've given up trying to keep the players separate in Syria, trusting Trump to not do something stupid or attack the wrong party. Do you also trust Trump?

I did, and your analogy make no sense.

What makes the difference are the WMD’s, the history of use of WMD’s in warfare, and what the civilized nations of the planet decided in the aftermath of those atrocities was unacceptable ever again.

Crimes happen all over. People are brutally killed all over. Sometimes the criminals are caught and many times not. Gassing civilians with Chlorine is a different level of crime. As stated above, the civilized world, or whats left of it, decided collectively not to accept that. Just like a countries borders, if you don’t respect the rules, and allow others to violate those rules, its like the rules might not as well exist.

It really amazes me that the generation on this forum are afraid to fight the necessary battle now in order to prevent future atrocity for their children. But ignorance is bliss...

That should never have been allowed to go what 70 days. I don't recall the details, lots of screw-ups leading up to the fire. The extremist group should have been shut down long prior. That whole mess could just as easily happened with Reagan, Bush (either), or even Trump.

Anyway, that is very, very different than what is occurring in Syria and embarrassing to see people try and compare, lowering the US to the same level as Assad. Not even Bill Clinton deserves that. Definitely the US does not.

The terrorists organizations never agreed not to use Gas....and in Syria they have the most to gain by extending this war.

(side note: So does Erdogan)

So we pick and choose which despots we punish? I’m not against action, but only when it is in America’s national interest. We have zero national interest here. When bombing Assad benefits ISIS, you know you’re picking the wrong team.

I cannot imagine some the age of those on this forum cannot see us getting jerked around to get into another war in the Middle East.

I am so tired of being expected to give a shit about people in the Middle East. I don’t. And I sure don’t want my kids to have to continue to fight over there.

I Just don't trust those pushing for war in Syria right now, nor those who say they have proof that Assad did this act.

An Atrocity DID happen in Syria, be it the gassing of civilians by the Syrian government or the so called Rebels, or the Murder of the truth in the name of a International political gain.

Sanction Syria after order is restored, but this is CERTAINLY not a situation where we should rush headlong into war with Syria.

Sorry, I don’t buy your conclusions.

Sorry to break it to you but the so-called "Free Syrian Army" consists of various factions of radical jihadists. They are not your friends. Feel free to research it yourself.

America, once again, has chosen the wrong side.

Assad, according to Obama and Kerry, removed all WMD's years ago. So I guess your correct....no wait, then where did the terrorist get them from?

I really cant keep wasting time going in circles. Read my post history for the last day if you want. Believe or don't not. Assad did this and it was observed by multiple collection systems.

Why hasn’t Nikki Haley showed this “evidence” instead of beating her shoe on the table at the UN?

Ok just do this. State one clear evidence that Syria gassed its own people. Do not use conclusions or conjecture. Go!!
