uring an interview with Fox News host Harris Faulkner today U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) discussed a response letter he received from FBI Director Christopher Wray.
Senator Paul inquired with the FBI Director about whether reassigned FBI Agent Peter Strzok and DOJ/FBI Attorney Lisa Page still retained their Top Secret FBI clearances.
According to Senator Paul, the FBI director would not respond to specific agent inquiry, however, Wray did affirm that all existing FBI officials retain Top Secret clearances.
In essence, Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, despite being removed from investigative authority over their role in the political efforts to target President Trump, retain employment within the DOJ/FBI apparatus in an unknown capacity and thereby their clearances.

Nothing happened to them.
If you fire them, then you cannot compel cooperation with the IG’s office. Just like a cop, if you resign or retire, you can tell Internal Affairs to take a flying leap.
I would expect that they are cooperating witnesses.
“I would expect that they are cooperating witnesses.”
I certainly hope so....
You missed the point.
why can dual citizens hold top secret security clearances ?
Go Rand Paul! Is there any other senator standing with Trump against the Deep State?
Incredible... scheming coup, politicizing department, spending more time with adultrous texting than working. Perfect government workers?! Maybe up for promotions next?
No. I get the point, they could be demoted but they could also refuse the demotion and resign or retire, if they have enough service time.
There’s a middle ground. I.e.: they get demoted AND lose their highest level security clearances. They’re still employed, but just at a lower level.
Jeff Sessions has been AG for 1 year, 2 months, 2 days.
They don’t have to accept the demotion. If their cooperation is the goal, leave them be. If you demote them and they resign or retire, you’ve lost leverage.
If they want to resign or retire over losing the top level security clearances, then they’re up to no good. The criminals can’t be the ones dictating the terms
Just having an extra marital affair is enough to get your clearance pulled
Yeah, I get that, but they leave and you lose the ability to question them outside the presence of an attorney.
Just more examples of how corrupt the FBI and DOJ are, even with a new FBI director.
Why!?!?
Just because they still technically still hold those clearances does not mean they are allowed access to such information. They cannot phone anyone in the Bureau and ask to see anything requiring a clearance. It’s still a need-to-know basis and I would like to think that they are both getting the Milton and the red stapler treatment.
Do you have so much as a shred of evidence that the idea of cancelling their highest level security clearance was ever even broached? I can’t believe we’re arguing over your imagined scenario, that this pair would go racing out the door if their security clearances were infringed in even the slightest way.
If Im a betting man; some of those text that we havent seen have incriminating evidence against both of them and theyre told: we can make it worse for you in jail time or you can sit here and well cut a deal if you cooperate, be demoted and spill everything you know
