Not sure where this is going to. Lincoln went on a tangeant warring with the South when democrats were clearly the enemy and had openly declared enemity. In this case Trump seem to go out on a limb avoiding declaring enemity with Democrats and goes on tangeants in Syria. It is not a very good place to be chessed in that way.

Haven’t you learned by now? Trump never reveals his true intentions with regard to military. This is kabuki theater. Prepare to be surprised by what actually does take place.
D-Day was successful in large part because we had the Germans thinking the real invasion was coming to Calais and that Normandy was a distraction. We even had Patton set up with a fake Army to go into Calais.
The words are tough, standard Donald J. Trump but I would have preferred a tweet about 50,000 troops going to our southern border to seal it.
