Rick Scott, Floridas popular governor, has a good chance of ousting a Democratic senator this fall. . . snip
Conservatives feel good about Scott taking his record to the voters this November. Ron DeSantis, a Republican congressman who is running to succeed Scott as governor, told me this weekend that Scott will also be able to pummel Nelson, the Democratic incumbent senator, for his votes against Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch and against the Trump tax cut. Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, says Scott can use the states prosperity to appeal to many voters who wouldnt normally be reachable. A recent Mason Dixon poll, for example, found that even 59 percent of Democrats think that the states economy is on the right track. Rick Scott signed and kept the pledge against raising taxes for eight years.
Even better, he cut taxes each and every year of his governorship, Norquist told me. He always put taxpayers ahead of the special interests, and thats a winning political formula.

Idiocy is supporting a coward like Scott who buckles on a KEY CONSERVATIVE ISSUE.
HIS FECKLESSNESS AND COWARDICE inspired more anti gun legislation everywhere.
A vote for him is a vote for another McCain.
Ditto what you said. I’ll send him a few bucks, distribute yard signs, maybe man a phone bank.
Scott is OK. Yeah, he blew it on the guns thing. But Nelson has GOT to go!!!

I am getting to the point of disgust with the purist tendencies of many posts on this site. Add to this a large helping of pessimism that verges on defeatism
If confronted with a choice between a communist which is basically all any Democrat is these days and a moderate GOPer, what does common sense tell us?
Well, my common sense tells me that Id rather have someone who votes for freedom half the time than one who votes all the time to further enslave the American people.
>
Sorry, FRiend, but can you point me to any progress this ‘better slavery by a single shackle’??
Even given the (corp) ‘tax cuts’, these partial-freedom (R)N(C) haven’t moved the ball BACK a single yard.
40yrs. We have still been waiting for the DoEd to be abolished. PP/NPR/NEA? Funded.
Hell, *THEY*, not the (D), gave us DHS, TSA, NSA.
So, please, point me to those ‘votes for freedom half the time’. My scorecard has more CONS than PRO.
And, for the record, for me, Scott’s capitulation of the 2nd was the final straw. The PRs will never go back, the illegals he’s allowed in the State (gave ‘em in-State tuition), never met a school tax increase he didn’t love...
No, he’s not getting my vote. More options on the ballot than TWO.
Oh bullshiite. You are spreading liberal lies. The medicare thing was complete bs propaganda, like your post.
>
No wonder Republicans cant hold a majority with turncoat voters like you.
>
Please, tell me what they’ve DONE w/ these majorities We’ve given ‘em?
Bush: DHS, NSA, TSA, TARP, NCLB, biggest expansion of MediXYZ
Zero-Trump: no wall funding\pro illegals, PP+ funding, $1T deficits, CORP ‘tax cuts’ (not across the board/ALL Americans), NO ‘smaller govt’, no ‘Rule of Law’.
Personally, I think the (R)N(C) level pullers are delusional and willfully BLIND. 40yrs+ of post-Reagan (as if HE was the 2nd coming), and not ONE dept/agency dismantled. Things merely ‘cut’, as if govt will never grow-back, faster, bigger.
I live in FL, and joined the NRA for the first time ever, a week after the parkland cf. To spit in the eye of the commies.
I will support Scott with enthusiasm, and volunteer time and $. Don’t like that? I don’t care.
I’ll work for DeSantis as well, with even greater enthusiasm. Some asshats are already running nonstop negative ads against him. Gonna be a major fight, this one.
Go Ron!!! Go Rick!
If the Republicans nominate Scott, I would rather they lose the election. Gun grabbing must be punished. It does no good electing a Republican who will be just as much of a swamp creature as the Democrat. At least a Scott defeat would send the message out to other RINOs that surrendering to the Left on key issues carries great cost to them personally. I am loyal to principle, not party.
If I were in Florida I don’t know if I could bring myself to vote for Scott or not, but it’s very discouraging to see a Republican running to the left on gun control against a Democrat. Scot was quoted as saying that Bill Nelson never did anything for gun control.
“Bill Nelson is a career politician,” said Scott. “He talks a lot. He does nothing. Think about it: He has been in office for almost 50 years. He hasnt done anything on gun safety or school safety, and nothing on gun control.”
As for your comment about this place being infested with idiots, I would say that disagreeing with you doesn’t necessarily make someone an idiot. Let’s see, what party is it that usually makes their case by disparaging others instead of arguing facts?
You have absolutely no clue about what happened here so you should just keep quiet instead of carrying leftist water. Do you dislike people simply because they are wealthier than you? Scott had little to do with this case and left the company when they decided to cave to Clinton's pressure rather than fight the bogus Medicare fraud claim. Scott stood up to the Clinton big government shake down and you bad mouth him for it? Fool.
I am going to vote for Governor, Rick Scott to become the next US Senator from Florida. But, like you, I am ticked off at Rick Scott for two reasons, the gun legislation he signed and passed into law, and the fact that he has done absolutely nothing to get rid of the Democrat Public Servants in the Broward County ISD, that provided cover for for the insane, nutcase that slaughtered and murdered seventeen, innocent children and their teachers at Parkland High School.
That’s also a ditto for the Democrat, Congresswoman, Debbi Wasserman Schultz “Darling Democrat”, low life, Broward County Sheriff, Scott Israel & the FBI failures.
Problem is, Democrat, Senator, Bill Nelson is among the walking dead, an empty, useless, failed suit, if there ever was one!!!
Yep. Nelson needs to go, and there’s probably no one more suited it do it. That’s my only motivation at this point. Scott has really made some major missteps recently, and my motivation to support him is basically zero now.
Bttt.
