Nevada’s GOP governor: Border duty not ‘an appropriate use' of National Guard

Nevada’s GOP governor has come out against President Trump’s plan to send the National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border.

A spokeswoman for Gov. Brian Sandoval said in an email to the Associated Press Friday that Sandoval doesn’t believe deploying members to the border would be “an appropriate use” of the National Guard.

Defense Secretary James Mattis signed a memo Friday authorizing the National Guard to deploy up to 4,000 troops to the border.

Trump had announced last week that the military would send troops to defend the southern border until his border wall was completed. The White House later clarified that the National Guard would be sent to the border.

Arizona and Texas have both stated that they will send troops to the border starting this weekend.

Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) vowed Thursday to reject the request to send National Guard troops to the border.

I guess he doesn’t want to be re-elected.

Um, no! Wait, not just no! FR has become infested with anti constitutional democrats.
If you have ever spent more than 20 minutes on armed patrol you would know our military will be out manned, outgunned with bounties on their heads.. killed for sport.
All because someone can’t build a wall, as promised.
Inmpotent and incompetent leadership.

Gotcha. I had just noticed the Guv of Washington state used as his excuse something like, "We don't share a border with Nevada."

LOL!

>>His state doesn’t share a border with Mexico.<<

Not only that, but the gaming industry in that State, and the economy that supports it, hires thousands of cheap-labor immigrants, a large number of whom are here illegally. And a number of corrupt unions are also on the cheap-labor gravy train. This, by the way, is how American got saddled for years with that despicable creature by the name of Harry Reid who was largely responsible for the unlawful Federal persecution and prosecution of the owners of the Bundy ranch.

I actually enjoy receiving RNC phone and e-mail solicitations because it gives me great pleasure to rip them up one side and down the other. And what I receive in the snail mail goes straight back to them with a hate-filled hand-written rant.

>>Illegal entry is not an invasion, it is a misdemeanor.<<

If we had a Congress that put the safety of Americans at the top of the list of its duties, illegal entry would long ago have been made a felony with severe penalties upon conviction.

Of course not, they are his enemies, and many of them are just as evil as the RATs, maybe even more so.

The federal government is not dependent on state consent to protect them from invasion.

Conversely, states are not dependent of federal consent to protect themselves from invasion.

Article I Section 10:

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.

If Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval's belief were true that deploying members to the border would be “an appropriate use” of the of the National Guard, there wouldn't have been a need for this clause in the Constitution.

States can act unilaterally to call up their own state guards to defend their own borders, citing "imminent Danger as will not admit of delay" to bypass Congress. Since this so-called caravan is planning to enter via Baja California, it is unlikely the Jerry Brown will call up California's guard, but other states bordering Mexico certainly can.

Put the troops on the Arizona and Texas borders with Mexico, and wait for California to cry "Uncle" as the invading hoards overrun their state as the only avenue in.

Beef up the border patrol and/or state guards on the California-Nevada and California-Arizona borders to catch those who make it through.

Yeah, the idiot moderate socialists of California leave the state and bring their crap to other states. I've thought how the affected States could deal with this issue, but can't come to a realistic Constitutional (Fed or State) solution.

My suggestion: Let the States pass laws for open carry. That would keep the scared whiny snowflakes, gen-x, and boomer hippies out of many States. They walk into a restaurant in Texas and see a Sig on the hip of another patron just eating her eggs, and faint. Probably leave for Colorado after that...haha.
