The Greek air force has intercepted a Turkish military drone that violated Greeces national airspace in the southeastern Aegean, Kathimerini has learned.
The Turkish Anka unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV ANKA) twice entered Greek airspace above the Dodecanese island of Rhodes, at an altitude of 19,000-20,000 feet on Thursday.
The drone was intercepted by Greek F-16 fighter jets that took off from Kasteli air base on Crete.
On Thursday, Greek and Turkish fighter jets engaged in two dogfights over the Aegean, after the Turkish jets violated Greek airspace 16 times in the northeast, central and southeastern Aegean.

Turkish aggression is present. This is the reaction from Greece.
It is obvious that Erdogan wants out of NATO but is too gutless to declare it himself.
He will leave. He is totally incompatible with founding of NATO.
Planes took off from Crete, wonder how long before the Turks there start trouble.
After this, a couple days ago:
Greece has been in a demographic death spiral for the last 90 years. In 1928, Turkey’s population was 2x Greece’s. Now, it’s 8x.
Turkey’s fertility ratio has fallen to replacement levels (2.1 births per woman in 2016) and is likely to fall lower. Unfortunately, Greece’s fertility ratio is 1.3.
In 1928 Greece was well established in the Middle East. They are largely gone now. Due to Genocide, Massacre, and cultural genocide.
Turkey joined NATO in 1952, (they largely sat out WWII) and have never wavered from using every scheme they can to remove all Greeks, Jews, Alevi’s, Syriacs, Assyrian Christians and Ezidi’s from their country.
Turkey under Erdogan is constantly talking about retaking the Ottoman Empire.
That was not discussed publicly during any Turkish government from the founding.
Here we are.
And this too:

What does “intercepted” mean?
Did they shoot it down?
Evidently not, it looked pretty intact in the photo and it was weatherproofed with Orange/Red tape and film.
We had one of ours captured or surrendered to Iran by Obama. Evidently they took control of the electronics then.
I know nothing about Global avionics. I am familiar to radio controlled planes, they are short range and don’t have navigation systems.
You’re thinking of Cyprus. Crete has had almost no Turkish population since the 1920’s. And yes, Cyprus will be a hot point.
You’re right, I had a brain fart.
I’m more curious about “dogfights”.
Were weapons fired? Any hits? The article does not say...
None fired, 80% of them were armed.
I suspect they did radar locks.
For a small country, I’ve read they have good pilots.
Turkey did, before the purge. Not so much now.
