why don’t they just move the earth? or sun?
Crazy Scientists think Planet Earth is the size of their living room
So, this is an admission that GW is NOT man-made, but caused by the sun?
Blocking the sun? What could go wrong? /sarc
The only outcome to such a notion is climate weaponry. Morons just love government solutions to non existent problems and then act shocked when things go horribly wrong.
These scientists are stupid.
The cost of this would be astronomical. The money would be better spent planting trees.
Interfere with the balance of nature at your own risk.
To quote Dr. Frank N Furter, “The cure is worse than the affliction.”
—reminds me of a tenured professor some years ago who wanted to use nukes to break up the moon so Erf could have rings like Saturn-—
“Scientists have long known that manmade events like pollution in the atmosphere, smoke from forest fires and volcanic eruptions can create a cooling effect.”
Now even volcanoes are man’s fault.
More than one. Two or more. Might not be three. Very strong possibility that Scientists against giant sunshade outnumber Scientists in favor of giant sunshade.
How about squirting sun block UVP 1,000,000,000 at the sun?
I would suggest something cheaper: tin foil hats for GW believers
It’s probably because they realize that in the next 30 or 40 years the climate will be cooling as the The Maunder Minimum kicks in and they want to be able to do three things: 1) take credit for saving the world from global warming. 2) prove that all their previous claims about global warming were correct. 3) get massive amounts of funding to keep the gravy train rolling.
GREAT SOLUTION! How do I start contributing to the fund before the government even comes up with the calculations of what it will cost taxpayers to build?
Classic solution for which there is no problem
Oh Good Grief! Imaginary science for an imaginary problem. The great scam continues.
Then, as now, the only cure was to let the self-appointed smart people micromanage our lives and economies.
Actually, there is some interesting theory here. Anyone who has been in the track of a full eclipse notices how the temperature drops quickly in their area. In some situation, *on land*, it is as much as 15F.
While these advocates are entirely thinking of the land, the real change might be over water. Specifically over “El Nino” water, which is hotter than most surface temperatures.
A slowly moving high altitude umbrella might cause the hot ocean water, already giving up heat, to give it up *faster*. And this might eventually reduce the duration of the El Nino.
They plan to tinker with a system that is so complex they don’t fully understand it?
Great! What could go wrong?!
These people are witch doctors. Just throw some magic dust into the fire and call it a day.
