I would suggest zoroastrian
I asked a friendly Iranian whether or not Zoroastrian religion exists in Iran. He was good with English but said that he didn’t understand the word and consulted for a few seconds with another Iranian in Farsi.
He asked, “Are you referring to Zarathustra?” He then said that it was an ancient religion of people who worshiped fire and that the religion is essentially nonexistent in Iran today. They had learned about the ancient religion while studying in university programs.
The people I was talking to said that they were Muslims but “not very religious.” They said that there are many others like themselves in Iran.
They also tended to eat Asian food while avoiding meat.
The popular myth about contemporary worship of Zarathustra in Iran was a tactical error made by U.S. academic feminists in their efforts to construct convincing political speech for fomenting a revolution while trying to prevent direct U.S. intervention in Iran.
