Trump: US-Mexico border will be guarded by military

President Trump said Tuesday the military would be guarding the U.S.-Mexico border until a border wall can be constructed and “proper security” put in place.

"We have very bad laws for our border and we are going to be doing some things, I’ve been speaking with Gen. Mattis, we’re going to be doing things militarily,” Trump said Tuesday before a working lunch with Baltic leaders. “Until we can have a wall and proper security, we are going to be guarding our border with the military. That’s a big step. We really haven’t done that before, and certainly not very much before.”

The president was referencing Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis. The Pentagon was waiting for more details immediately after Trump's announcement.

I’m so glad Trump is putting troops on border, and before he signed Omnibus Bill, he sent letter to Congress he would invoke ‘1985 Emergency Deficit Act’ to use funds from other places like PP, if needed for National Security! :) He should divert enough to build whole WALL!

Trump has a special relationship with the Marines.

He can put them all on the border on a whim if he so desires.

Posse comitatus does NOT apply to the Marines.

Tanks, howitzers, heavy machine guns, helicopters, Warthogs...the media would go nuts and nobody would approach the border.

Have the Warthogs patrol the border at very low altitude at near max cruise speed....have them fly on the Mexican side of the border!

The Warthog at 300ft and 350mph would be a frightful thing. The two huge turbofans would make a sound that would rattle your bones at such low altitude.

The Warthog ain't pretty or fast, it is a scary thing that is sort of like a light tank that flies.

Shut down all trade with Mexico for 30 days if they do not act.

Forbid all remittances to Mexico for a year.

Place the country under martial law if need be and use the entire armed forces at that point.

And get the Corp of Engineers working on the wall...light a fire under their ass.

Have federal marshals arrest all public officials in sanctuary cites.

Trump has the power to do all of these things.

Mess with a genius-level, street-smart, Queens boy and buddy, you got problems.

I don't know about you but I'm pissed, it's time to stop phukin around with this.

At this point I don't give a flying fadoodle about "optics." This is our country and it's well past time to assert our rights. We've militarily defended about every other border in the free world. If we don't defend our own we'd better stop pretending we're a sovereign nation.
