Thanks, DiogenesLamp.

I don’t always agree with FR censorship, but it’s mostly a good thing. It’s one of the very few places on the internet where conservatives can speak with each other without being shut down or trolled by bots and paid leftwing shills.

Furthermore, FR does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. FB, Twitter, Instagram, and similar places pretend that they are open and free when they are hard left and more likely than not are tools of the Deep State. They are collecting our data and using it against us or selling it to people who will use it against us. FR is very open about its politics and policies and has never suckered anyone into using the platform in order to exploit them or brainwash them.

There is no “shadow banning” on FR. You have to work pretty hard to get zotted and if you do, it’s aboveboard, not behind your back. From what I hear, people get a warning first and are told why.

There are hundreds if not thousands of other places where content that is unwelcome here can be posted. So no one is being silenced.

Don’t like it here? Go to DU. But be advised, they will throw you off if they don’t like your conservative views.

I don’t think they really pretend to be “open and free”, not according to their terms of service at least.

“They are collecting our data and using it against us or selling it to people who will use it against us.”

Which is also pretty clearly delineated in their terms of service.

“There is no “shadow banning” on FR. You have to work pretty hard to get zotted and if you do, it’s aboveboard, not behind your back. From what I hear, people get a warning first and are told why.”

They do have some rather inconsistent standards for banning content, so that’s a fair objection.

“There are hundreds if not thousands of other places where content that is unwelcome here can be posted. So no one is being silenced.”

The same can be said for youtube as well.

“Don’t like it here? Go to DU.”

I like it here just fine. I’m not one of the ones arguing that private website owners aren’t entitled to run their own websites how they like. I just think people should be consistent in their opinions on the matter, and not advocate one set of rules for websites they like, an another for websites they don’t like.
