Its going to have to be done in a bipartisan way by two ex-presidents who I think still have a lot of credibility, and my guess is they are saving their powder for that. I sure hope so because if Republican will not call the game, were going to need someone with legitimate authority to do so.
And what "legitimate authority" is that? Bush and 0bama are now private citizens, with no more power in the matter than that bum rolling a shopping cart down the street and just as unattractive. They aren't going to "step into" anything at all. You want a Constitutional crisis, try overthrowing an elected President with a pair of has-been political hacks. Friedman is hallucinating:
I believe the Mueller investigation, when it is finally put on the table before us, will trigger some form of constitutional crisis. I dont know what hes going to find about the president, whether its collusion, whether its financial impropriety, I have no idea. But I think its going to find something that will trigger a constitutional crisis.
So the meat of the matter is that Friedman has no idea of what Mueller might have, no concept of what sort of "constitutional crisis" might even be involved or how removal might be effected, and is hoping that someone from the outside will fly in on a magic carpet and take Trump away. The amazing thing is that he can recite this litany of embarrassment with a straight face. Fortunately inasmuch as it's MSNBC, nobody is watching.
As long as Friedman is posting this lunacy, he might as well suggest digging up the rotting corpse of Ted Kennedy so he could be a “legitimate authority” to deal with a constitutional crisis.
