EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt on Monday formally scrapped a key piece of the Obama administrations fuel-efficiency standards for cars and light-duty trucks, throwing the future of the program into doubt.
In a statement, Mr. Pruitt said the program, known as the Corporate Average Fuel Economy, or CAFE standards, fell victim to politics during the final days of the Obama administration. He said his predecessors at the EPA rushed through rules governing fuel economy for model years 2022 through 2025, and that those rules simply arent realistic.
The Obama Administrations determination was wrong, he said. Obamas EPA cut the midterm evaluation process short with politically charged expediency, made assumptions about the standards that didnt comport with reality, and set the standards too high.

Yea, he complained a bit but not too much.
Just saved us a bit of trouble and time.
When PDJT meets with Kim Jung Unhinged, he should consider selling them the corn used for ethanol so the Norks can feed livestock so they can get some protein, as part of the surrender your nukes deal. Talk about winning!
You’re absolutely right and was an 0bama excuse for the EV tax credit.

You, my FRiend, can “link”.
Great idea. Contact PDJT.
First kill the EPA Thief. Then you’ll get all your goods back.

A major reason why we're seeing a lot less smog alerts is that all the pre-1988 model automobiles are pretty much gone from the roads. As such, most vehicles at least meet Tier 2 Bin 5, and that means far cleaner air to start with.
I want 1 ton, 4x4 coal fired pickup truck with a steam boiler. I’d put a train whistle on it.
The first thing I’d do is drive thru downtown Ann Arbor, belching coal smoke to the heavens. Liberal pukes would be fainting dead away!
BUMP!
Start a go-fund-me; I’d donate to that.....
Legacy incandescent light bulbs are actually pretty efficient IR heat generators, and in fact, such a bulb in a confined space can heat a room to sufficient level to prevent freeze up of water pipes even in severely sub-zero weather.
Some 98% of the energy they consume is released as heat.
Halogen bulbs were a little more intense in heat generation, while the light output per watt was also somewhat higher. The difference with halogen bulbs, is that the energy can be more sharply focused, depending on the design of the glass envelope.
Supposedly, Obama’s team jumped on the industry saying it doesn’t align with the laws of physics, “who’s laws are these?? that’s why we’re here, we can change laws!!”.
I don’t know how true it is but makes for a good laugh, wouldn’t surprise me.
Excellent news. Obongo shoved these rules through on his way out the door. Impossible to meet without forcing us into electric golf carts. Government Tryanny.
“Before long the only legacy left for Øbama will be BLM.”
Not if they come on down to South Carolina. The last BLM big chief Obuma sent down was arrested for attempted murder.
Amen to that! It doesn’t seem to make much sense to me to burn food in our cars.
In addition, I’m not a fan of halogen, flourescent or LED lights. They really change observed color. Being the artist that I am, that factor matters a lot to me.
Now think about putting lead back in gasoline where it belongs and I’ll seriously consider a ‘60’s go-fast to enjoy in my senior years.
My wife does a lot of fine needle work and got me introduced to Ott Lights. Have you tried them? Task Lighting with great color rendition and low glare.
