Andrew Scheer is a conservative Conservative but he doesn’t seem to have the presence of even Harper, the policy wonk. While I think he can win the next election, I don’t see a majority right now, with him as leader of the Conservatives.

Until the Cons start talking up Scheer to the press, he is a bit of an unknown. I would like him to pick up a bit of attitude, a la Kevin O’Leary, becoming a bit of a populist, a milder DJT. As we Canucks do often follow the lead of our ‘Murcan cousins, a leader with a bit of ‘attitude’ could likely succeed. That is what the Canadian Conservative ‘brand’ needs, IMO.

Yeah, after the Trudeau win I turned all my attention to America. Especially after the Sun News fail. We now have NOTHING - no voice for conservatives in Canada - except for handful of policy groups like Taxpayer Federation and Fraser Institute.

I’m guessing, but it has taken years for me to realize that conservatives are a minority in Canada. Just the way it is. I would guess around 15% are serious conservatives.
