Moreover, Sessions was, in fact, using Justice Department lawyers with prosecutorial power in connections with potential FISA and related abuses. Since November, John Huber, the U.S. Attorney for Utah, has been on the case. Trump apparently didnt know this, but he should have. Sometimes its better to talk to the Attorney General than mindlessly to blast him on Twitter.
Huber was appointed by President Obama, but his name was submitted by Senators Hatch and Lee of Utah. Thus, his selection by Sessions seems like a shrewd move. As Obamas nominee it will be difficult for critics plausibly to paint him as anti-Democrat. But as the favorite of Hatch and Lee, Republicans should be confident that hes not in the Democrats pocket. Moreover, because Huber works out of Utah, its unlikely that hes connected in any way with D.C. insiders such as James Comey and Andrew McCabe.
What about the decision to use a U.S. attorney rather than appoint a special counsel? This decision also seems sound, and not just because I dont like special counsels. The combination of the IG and the USA should be able to accomplish as much as a special counsel would and accomplish it faster and with less fanfare.
The absence of fanfare is an advantage because it makes it more difficult for Democrats and their media partners to push the idea that anyone is being persecuted. A Justice Department investigation headed by two Obama appointees is harder to shoot at than a special counsel. And, of course, nothing prevents Sessions from appointing a special counsel if changed circumstances militate in favor of doing so.
In sum, Sessions has handled this matter well, Trumps foolish tweets notwithstanding.
Sounds like Trump is losing patience with Sessions:

So sad that the Department of Justice and the FBI are slow walking, or even not giving, the unredacted documents requested by Congress. An embarrassment to our country!
Trump is providing cover for Sessions and the OIG investigation.
Their periodic public spats are just a ruse to misdirect the media's attention.
These are the key words. It only "sounds like" Trump is losing patience with Sessions.
We know from experience, that if Trump doesn't like someone, he fires them.
There is a reason Trump is sticking with Sessions after a year and a half.
Trump knows what Sessions is up to and he approves of it.
His tweets provide cover for Sessions to get his job done without the media digging into that he's doing. They provide a misdirection for the media.
Their occasional public spats are a ruse to further this end.
That's not correct. I said it once after you said "what the hale".
You sound angry. At me, for some reason.
Were you angry with me? I was just responding similarly.
I hadn't seen that tweet until now, thanks. There seems to be more of an emphasis on reading the tea leaves than actually looking at real clues, such as the tweet that you cite.
No, Trump would not call Sessions’ justice department an embarrassment to the country as a diversion. That is a serious charge. It shows how thin Trump’s patience has been stretched.
Trump can’t fire Sessions in a vacuum. He already broached the subject and the blowback was instantaneous and fierce. Every senator that responded—and many did—threatened Trump. It was pretty disgusting.
Simply put, Trump doesn’t have enough support at this time to make firing Sessions a viable political option. So Trump uses tweets to *try* and get some cooperation out of Sessions. It’s an uphill battle.
You’re welcome. The idea that Trump would accuse Sessions of embarrassing the country as a form of 4DChess is without foundation. Trump means what he says when he references the country’s honor. Sessions is on thin ice—and has been for a while.
Sargon,
What you say is all true.
If i may though.
How long have you had a Clue that the Clintons are a crime syndicate?
No interest in justice.
There were so many issues in the Obama administration.

Agree. The government is a criminal enterprise that makes the mob look like amateurs.
If they are "up to 24,544", is this a lot? What is the average or normal volume? ..about 1,000 to 1250 at years end.

Well you know republicans tend to back down when democrat activists offer token resistance. The only thing that keeps me expecting results is that DJT is president instead of any other Republican.

Enjoy.
For now, we have to give AG Sessions, President Trump, and—most importantly—God—whose hand is at work in this administration—the benefit of the doubt.
By the time the midterms come along, we should know whether we've been duped or not. But we at least have to give it until then, IMHO...
Trump isn’t giving Sessions the benefit of the doubt. He’s shaming him.

It's not my job to "convince" you of my opinion. This is not a contest. This is not a "I win, you lose" forum. It is an opinion blog.
So I am not into drama, arguing and degrading each other.
If you don't like my opinions, that's fine.
reasonable to conclude that Obama knew they ere going total trump. Susan rice is his liar-in-chief
Could you kindly post a link to one of the latest Q annon threads? Thanks.
No doubt in my mind.
I do my own research, perhaps more than you do.
You made a claim. You said that "Huber is obtaining indictments and preparing criminal cases". I don't think there is evidence to support your claim. So I ask you to support your claim.
Pretty normal thing to do.
But you take offense to it.
Your claim remains unsupported.
