MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) Gun rights supporters protesting gun restriction legislation have gathered outside the Vermont Statehouse to urge the governor not to sign the bill.
Police estimate hundreds of protesters turned out Saturday to show their opposition a day after the Vermont legislature passed the gun restrictions package.
Protesters were giving away 1,200 30-round magazines. The legislation would ban high-capacity magazines and rapid-fire devices known as bump stocks, in addition to raising the legal age. It also would expand background checks for private gun sales.
People who own high-capacity magazines before the law takes effect can keep them.
Gun rights advocates also were accepting donations for a fund to challenge the Vermont legislation.
Republican Gov. Phil Scott is expected to sign the bill.

The antigunners have already taken a whole butcher shop o# bones.
Giving in to bullies only emboldens them.
A
No.
Do you think they will stop at this "bone"?
How many bones have we already thrown to the gun grabbers?
How many bones do you figure we have left before we're out of bones?
“Tell that to people in Nazi Germany.”
We did, our government conquered their government.
The Soviet Union failed. Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge failed. Their peoples saw it happen, we don’t need to tell them anything.
If you can’t wait for our politcal system to act, get invoilved, support candidates, give your money and time.
That’s what works, not some useless marching around the woods and collecting weapons with some notion that our government is an armed threat.
“Range time is expensive”
You actually have to pay per unit of time at the range? How unfortunate. We pay only per session ($5) or nothing if you’re a member.
By tossing them a bone I meant that you give up something to get something back.
The left is over-focused on mag sizes. Let them do that while we wink-wink fuss and fume.
See what they have to offer, how about a political path to arming teachers and administrators?
Very naive of you.
The teachers already have a right to carry.
Get the fed out of education. Abolish the NEA.
So your answer is to wait until another country defeats us in war, or wait a generation or two for the system to fail.
Sorry. I'm "uselessly marching around the woods and collecting weapons". You can wait, and hope and pray your group is not targeted for extermination or purposed famine. Not me.
“Shall Not Be Infringed” means what it says and says what it means.
I don't need a Ferrari, but if I have enough Money I might just buy one.
Just like any other inanimate Object, that Ferrari could be used to Assault a whole bunch of People if I chose to use it that way.
I'm starting to sense futility in dealing with you.
You bring up Unalienable Rights. I point out the only document that mentions them (the DOI). You abandon that point and go on to other topics.
I see no point to my spending time schooling you. Believe as you will; consider me a political foe.
Throw the gun grabbers a bone.
Go **** yourself.

Apparently you arent actually familiar with firearms or their usage.
That said, the biggest issue with the bump-stock bans is the vague and often outright absurd wording. As written they ban many mundane non-firearm items.
“Without the 2nd Amendment, you would have to go to Congress or the Courts and prove a harm that any weapon represents.”
Congress is one election away from banning guns. The Supreme Court is one justice away from banning guns.
Thinking throwing something with a little oomph would be in order, save the bone for the dog.
. unless there are 20 assailants, perfectly possible in a civil strife
-
Or a need for suppression fire.
Or people miss.
If they come to my house to grab my guns, Ill throw them some ammo.
It really pisses me off when people want to give away something that doesnt belong to them.
L
Yeah, you pay by the hour at the ranges around here. I want to join a club but none within 50 miles have lanes over 100 yards. For long range I have to visit a friends private property and shoot down the fire roads.
Some make the argument of what does it matter - 10, 20, 30, etc. when one can change a magazine so quickly. Until the gun grabbers think that a magazine lock for each firearm would be a good idea to prevent those 5-round magazines from being changed so quickly.
BTW - wouldn’t we WANT the bad guys to have 30-round magazines if they “are always jamming”?
Sorry Hoggboy, ‘no sale’.
Just like I don't 'need' a douchebag on the net to tell me what I 'need'. Give up your own crap and be the first on the boxcar.
