The Afrin Liberation Congress, held under Turkey's auspices following the capture of the region of Afrin in Syria by Turkish and Free Syrian Army forces, has announced that the region will be governed as part of the Turkish province of Antakya, independent news site T24 said.

The region will also establish a 450-person police force, the congress decided, and a governor and local governor will be appointed by Turkey’s central government.

Around 100 individuals from the region took part in the congress in the Turkish city of Gaziantep, and elected a 35-person assembly made up of 24 Kurds, eight Arabs, one Alawite, one Yezidi and one Turkmen, spokesperson Hasan Shindi said.

Until Erdoğan they were traded with each other and were almost allies. Erdoğan snuffed that out.

Well, it may well be the plan for Russia to string Turkey along long enough and then devour them. Gaining control of the Strait.

This is just now leaking out. This is the first of much to come, but no one is allowed to come back into Efrin, and if you try to leave, they probably try to kill you. If you leave and tell of what is happening it exposes the great evil happening.

“Thank you McCrazy for arming your favorite “moderate” jihadists which destabilized Syria”

Yep, these Al-Qaeda Islamists carrying out Islamist Turkey’s orders are the same Islamists that McCain, Little Lindsey, Hillary and Obama had trained, armed and supported.

God forgive us for abandoning our long-term friends & allies, the Kurds.

If it brings back Constantinople, then I'm all for it.

That depends upon who controls the Strait.

Turkey may be too big to swallow—80 million people (almost all Muslims). The Russians’ main interest is in control of the straits but even that would be difficult (Istanbul has about 14 million people and it isn’t the only city along the straits). Greece would have a stronger historic claim on Istanbul (Byzantium/Constantinople) but they would need to evict the current residents—and the entire population of Greece is less than that of Istanbul.

you got your jihadists mixed up.

easy enough to do; McCrazy, CIA, Pentagon, and Mossad also get confused which jihadists are the ones to send arms to, so they arm a bunch of them and hold it works out.

I don’t think that Assad would accept the theft of part of his country.. Or his Russian or Iranian “friends” would either. Don’t you think?

He allowed it in Efrin. Russia gave the green light, but would not have done so without Assad’s approval.

Turkey? sided with Erdogan on this one.
