Attorney General Jeff Sessions designated U.S. attorney John Huber as the prosecutor tasked with looking into allegations of abuse of power at the FBI.
In a Thursday letter to Congress, Sessions said this appointment was made in response to requests for a special counsel investigation of the claims. The attorney general said, however, that Huber will be the one determining "whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel....In his letter, Sessions said he will take the necessary actions to defend the integrity of the Justice Department and its work.
"We understand that the Department is not above criticism and it can never be that the Department conceals errors when they occur," Sessions wrote.
The attorney general said he expects the department's staff to operate with the "highest level of integrity, ethic, and professionalism."
"If anyone falls short of these standards, I will fulfill my responsibility to take necessary action to protect the integrity of our work," he said.

The problem with all this stuff that we’ve been witnessing and congress and sessions reluctant to do anything.
They are not reluctant. They are deliberately facilitating the Mueller soft coup to hamstring POTUS/MAGA so they can seize the agenda. We just saw that in the pile of garbage omnibus bill.
It’s just becoming clear now how much Trump is being obstructed by his own admin. Tillerson (Iran), Mattis (border war), Sessions (Rosenstein), etc.
That he has gotten any of his MAGA agenda through while being opposed by his own party and own admin is amazing.

It’s time for Trump to exercise his authority as the Supreme Law Enforcement Officer of the United States and fire that Worthless POS Sessions and name his own Special Council to go after Mueller and the entire DOJ.
He has the authority to do so and he should once and for all do it.

Sessions did mention a few weeks ago that he had someone from outside of D.C. looking into the matters for which legislators were requesting a Special Prosecutor. Back then, we were speculating that it might be the Prosecutor from Eastern Arkansas, where the Clinton Foundation has offices.
It is possible that Huber is looking at FISA abuse, AND other Prosecutors may be pursuing other charges. Why not?
