Attorney General Jeff Sessions names prosecutor to investigate FBI allegations.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions designated U.S. attorney John Huber as the prosecutor tasked with looking into allegations of abuse of power at the FBI.

In a Thursday letter to Congress, Sessions said this appointment was made in response to requests for a special counsel investigation of the claims. The attorney general said, however, that Huber will be the one determining "whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel....In his letter, Sessions said he will take the necessary actions to defend the integrity of the Justice Department and its work.

"We understand that the Department is not above criticism and it can never be that the Department conceals errors when they occur," Sessions wrote.

The attorney general said he expects the department's staff to operate with the "highest level of integrity, ethic, and professionalism."

"If anyone falls short of these standards, I will fulfill my responsibility to take necessary action to protect the integrity of our work," he said.

Sessions is doing exactly what an Attorney General is supposed to do - oversee the Department of Justice. It’s not his role to handle individual prosecutions. It’s his job to delegate that to his subordinates.

Huber’s investigation is likely a full time job. A department head has too many other responsibilities to allow himself to devote all his attention to one case, so he’s rightly delegated that task to one of his subordinates.

That’s a fact. Perilous times.

"He is waiting on Mueller to take out TRUMP!"

Sure looks like it. Everything other than Mueller's activities is slow rolled, and if the House goes over to the Rats in November, this will all vanish and all focus will shift to an impeachment.

Sessions is a joke.

Why is Hillary's IT guy, the one that wiped her email server clean when he new damn well those emails were under a preserve order from Congress and congressional subpoena, why is he walking around a free man. He destroyed evidence, destroyed classified docs and lied to the FBI about it and he is as free as a bird. If Sessions or anyone else for that matter was doing any kind of investigation that IT guy is witness #1, he should be in jail facing 30 years behind bars. That would loosen his tongue.

Why isn't Session looking into just who murdered Seth Rich?

Why is NO ONE investigating how Wiki Leaks got the DNC emails?

isn’t that why we need a special counsel?

“So Sessions is appointing someone to decide if someone should be appointed.”

No. Huber is a U.S. Attorney. He has mandate and authority to gather evidence, including subpoena power, empanel grand juries, and file charges if he concludes crimes have been committed.

Amen.

He is into delay, delay, delay. Drags out an Obama prosecutor to dally around and then make recommendations in about six months, or a year, and then Sleepy Sessions considers other considerations. BS. LOL!

Sessions just gave the middle finger to the subpoenas.
Dum Dum thought they were “concerns”.

He’s killing Trump from defending himself.

Fire Sessions. FREE TRUMP!

So the Demorats and deep state get immediately a special counsel to, in effect, prosecute a vacuum of bs, and conservatives get a prosecutor who will make recommendations as to whether a special prosecutor is warranted to what is OBVIOUSLY abuses of process at the highest level? What a pile of garbage. So what, maybe a year to see if one should be appointed? Leave it to Repubs to act like they don’t know their heads from their arses.

John Huber is a straight-laced Mormon, who avoids swearing. He has been a career prosecutor, and has had a National Security portfolio for some time.

Since he is doing his work from Utah, if he impanels a Grand Jury, they will likely be drawn from one of the most heavily Republican populations in the country.

Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee supported his re-appointment by President Trump, as they supported his appointment by Obama.

His motto (from his football days) is “Be the Hammer, Not the Nail”.

Huber essentially IS a special Counsel, minus all the bells and whistles. He has the same power to gather evidence and prosecute as a special counsel. The good news is that he was likely appointed months ago, under the radar. My guess is he’s close to filing charges or Sessions wouldn’t have decided to make his name public.

Trump held over a lot of people due to working with a skeleton crew. The hope was that his AG would serve the President ‘s interests.

“I’m no big fan of Special Prosecutors.”

I agree. States need to set up grand juries to investigate the federal, fascist deep state. When crimes are discovered, prosecute them under state law.

>>When crimes are discovered<<

That comment gave me quite the belly laugh. When crimes are discovered? Good grief! How much more evidence does one need? lol
