Attorney General Jeff Sessions names prosecutor to investigate FBI allegations.
CNBC ^ | March 29, 2018 | Christine Wang

Attorney General Jeff Sessions designated U.S. attorney John Huber as the prosecutor tasked with looking into allegations of abuse of power at the FBI.

In a Thursday letter to Congress, Sessions said this appointment was made in response to requests for a special counsel investigation of the claims. The attorney general said, however, that Huber will be the one determining "whether any matters merit the appointment of a special counsel....In his letter, Sessions said he will take the necessary actions to defend the integrity of the Justice Department and its work.

"We understand that the Department is not above criticism and it can never be that the Department conceals errors when they occur," Sessions wrote.

The attorney general said he expects the department's staff to operate with the "highest level of integrity, ethic, and professionalism."

"If anyone falls short of these standards, I will fulfill my responsibility to take necessary action to protect the integrity of our work," he said.

Passing the buck on a decision any real AG would have made a year ago is more typical Sessions stonewalling.

IMO, the biggest unreported story right now is the rampant disloyalty to POTUS and his agenda in the Trump admin. Tillerson (Iran), Mattis (wall), Sessions (Russia), etc. It’s the elephant in the room and nobody wants to talk about it for fear of depressing turnout in the midterms.

“yeah not likely before august 2017 and probably after December 2017....when was Hillary’s email case dismissed?”

We’ll see. I think the statute of limitations is five years, which would bring us to early 2018. But don’t forget about the 13,000 sealed federal indictments that have been accruing since mid 2017. I’ve got a feeling Trump and Sessions have got this.

Also, there are plenty of crimes to choose from with Hillary. If we miss her on the email case, there are more than enough other crimes of hers to put her away for years. The crime of storing classified emails on an unclassified server is likely small potatoes compared to the crimes revealed in the emails themselves. Many of those crimes likely have no statute of limitations.

Sealed indictments come from grand juries. Grand jury witnesses are not bound to secrecy. If the subject of a grand jury is politically related, witnesses always blab. Once a witness blabs, other details can be deduced if not outright leaked.

BB, you've been here 20 years and act surprised. You know bitching is what the "you people" do best.

There never has been, nor will there ever be consensus about much of anything here on FR. If there were threads would be short and boring.

Finally. A voice of reason.

If people want the criminals prosecuted, the next step is the appointment of a SPECIAL PROSECUTOR.

People can bitch, moan, complain, clutch their pearls, and faint like goats.

The rest of us will observe what unfolds as grownups are wont to do.

No. You will sit back and do nothing as the GOPe seizes the beltway agenda from a hamstrung POTUS who is currently under treasonaus assault.

As I type this the GOP and Dems are conspiring to invalidate the election and you dare attack those that yell FIRE? Pathetic. If the omnibus garbage bill wasn’t a wake up call for you have no hope. Sorry.

Exactly. As Coulter said, Trump was the only option. He was the only one rough and uncouth enough to say what everyone was thinking. But what if Trump really is a shallow lightweight, and was just mouthing the words that garnered support & approval to satisfy a juvenile, narcissistic personality?

Moronic take. “Shallow lightweights” do not make payrolls with 10,000 people on them.

It maybe over. It was always a long shot that one man could wrest control of our 4 trillion dollar stasi state.
Trump did us a tremendous favor by fully exposing just how corrupt and illegitimate our fed govt is...

It’s an echo chamber in D.C. 98% of our corrupt administrative state voted for Hillary rotten Clinton. Most don’t even recognize Trump’s legitimacy as POTUS. The reason why you see this kind of ahole behavior.

I don’t think it’s over but I do think the GOP has managed to trash most of Trump’s first term. Even if the GOP holds the House next year will be the Mueller soft coup 24/7/365. Then after that it is a POTUS year and nothing will be done.

Our only hope is getting Trump reelected and giving him a second term. He’s got to run against the entire beltway and go to war with both parties.

"Does Sleepy know that he is the boss?"

Micromanage much?

~~~~~~~~~~~
One of Donald Trump's strengths is the ability to choose good people, delegate to them both the responsibility for getting the tasks he wants done -- completed to his satisfaction -- and the authority and freedom to use their own talents and methods.
When they get results -- both Trump and his employee win.
If they don't get results -- or don't work on their assigned tasks, Trump utters his most famous two words: "You're Fired"!!.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Since you're on this "Q" thread, I expect you're aware that 4 10 20's real powerbase is the US Military -- particularly Military Intelligence, and specifically PsyOps. (Of course, disinformation and misdirection are basic PsyOps tools...)

You'll also note that -- despite "noisy" Tweets -- ""The Silent Assassin" is still on the job -- while many others have been found wanting -- and are gone.

~~~~~~~~~~~
There might be some lessons there for you -- and other Sessions-bashers...
This however sounds a little more like, having a plan to make a plan to make a plan.
Or in other words taking Nyquil for gonorrhea.
I agree but until Trump cleans house, congress isn’t scared enough of our President to act on this stuff.. i want to see Trump do a Trump and be the President he can be if he’d just take that bull by the horns and ..first..replace sessions with the rest of them and do what has to be done..
... and now when Sessions says he’s going to keep this in-house for now, you bitch about that.
A DOJ in-house investigation?
What could the problem be???
Mueller is going to give the repubikans in the house a legal fig leaf to impeach Trump and they will.
That’s why it’s so important to remove sessions, rosenstein and mueller ASAP. It’s now or never.
There are reasons why Trump hasn't fired Sessions and it's not because Sessions is doing a good job.
Perhaps you should remove your head from Q's "trust Sessions" threads and try to figure out what is really going on.
Sara Carter was on Fox tonight with Judge Jeanine.
Sara Carter reported that Huber has been working this issue since last Fall, and that five different FBI Field Offices have related investigations underway.
Really, they (Sessions, Trump) would have to be pikers to not see the election schedule, and know that the biggest eathshakers need to happen in September and October. Backward planning from that, it doesn't help to go public too early, with raids and arrests. Better instead to thoroughly roll up the networks, to demolish them root and branch, when the storm is unleashed.
The Storm is Coming!
The only storm coming is the impeachment of DJT if sessions, rosenstein and mueller are left in place.
They need to be fired ASAP
