An MP of the ruling party (in Turkey) blames a Jewish bank for JFK's assassination, Jews are blamed for the Kurdish referendum and for planning last year's failed coup. There is much more.
The writer is a Turkish journalist and political analyst formerly based in Ankara. She now lives in the United States.
When the Kurdish-controlled city of Afrin in northern Syria fell to Turkey on March 18, many Turkish Twitter users celebrated it, using anti-Semitic epithets that referred to the Kurdish PKK fighters there as servants of Jews, bastards of Jews, underbred Armenians and Jews and Crypto-Jews, -Armenians and -Pontian Greeks, among others.
One asserted that Striking hospitals is the work of Americans and Jews, while another declared: Allah willing, Hans, Georges, and Jewish and Armenian dogs will be cleansed from the area.
These anti-Semitic outbursts are not only peculiar to social media users in Turkey. The rise in anti-Semitic expressions in the country has a plethora of sources, including the president, several MPs, journalists, and members of political organizations, among others. And these public figures set a terrible example to average Turks, many of whom are already inclined to have Jew-hating sentiments due to the violent, anti-Semitic teachings in Islamic theology.
A Turkish news website that reports on Jewish-related issues, Avlaremoz, conducted an online survey in which readers were asked to choose the most anti-Semitic incidents of 2017.
Here are the results:

Make no mistake, Anti-semitism is extremely strong in Turkey and Iran. This is part of why the invasion of Efrin took place.
And Israel was and is and will be U.S.'s ally.
Anti Semitism? Well yeah. I guess 100 years ago they killed all the Christian Armenians.
Turkey had about eighty years of beneficial secular rule as the result of Kemal Ataturk’s reforms.
All that’s changing as Sultan Ayatollah Erdogan is reverting Turkey into a harshly intolerant Islamic state like Iran.
Jews are mentioned negatively more than 100 times in the Koran. Its instructions for Muslims to persecute Jews could not be more explicit.
Yes, they did. Along with Greeks, Ezidi’s, Alevi’s, Assyrian Christians and later Kurds.
The irony? Turkey is extremely racist. But the reality of Turks is they are anything but a pure race. The Mongul strain is common, but certainly not the majority. They hate what is not “deemed” as a Turk. What makes a Turk? It depends upon the moment in time you discuss the subject. The only consistency is they hate anyone who disagrees with the current leadership. Blind Patriotism of the brainwashed.
And the consequences? Repeated ethnic cleansing, Massacres and Genocide.
Total Insanity. And it mirrors our strain of Leftist thought in the West. (US and Europe)
If the Left in the US had us disarmed would it happen here? Yes.
Absolutely true.
Not 3 of my friends.
Sickening.
That’s not news, it’s just history.
Related to Afrin it is news, related to Turkey it is ancient history. Ethnic cleansing, Massacre and Genocide have been a large part of Turkish history.
But possibly I should think more about catagories I list under.
Thanks
Have a nice day.
Islam has a 1395 year history of extreme anti-semitism!
Why would we expect there to be anything different in 2017 than it was in 622 AD?
Yes. I know. But not all Muslims practice that hate.
Yes, it is in the book.
Then they should renounce Islam!
Many Syrian Kurds have.
Some are Christian, have been for some time.
Others are atheists. Product of PKK influence.
Some are still Muslim, but I don’t know one in Syria that is an Islamist.
Some like the Alevi’s have been secular concerning their neighbors for ages. That is why they were targeted by the Islamists. They got same treatment as the Armenians.
There was a community of Alevi’s in Efrin. Along with Ezidi and 2 Christian Churches.

This is a surprise.
You are obviously better informed in this matter than I.
All I know is what History teaches us, and the lesson to me is that Islam is an evil death cult.
There are Moslems, notably Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser at The American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who are working diligently to reform Islam, and I wish them Godspeed in their endeavors.
Color me skeptical that Islam can be reformed away FRom its founding principles.
