Are you ready? This is all the data Facebook and Google have on you

The data Google has on you can fill millions of Word documents Google offers an option to download all of the data it stores about you. I’ve requested to download it and the file is 5.5GB big, which is roughly 3m Word documents.

Manage to gain access to someone’s Google account? Perfect, you have a diary of everything that person has done This link includes your bookmarks, emails, contacts, your Google Drive files, all of the above information, your YouTube videos, the photos you’ve taken on your phone, the businesses you’ve bought from, the products you’ve bought through Google ...

They also have data from your calendar, your Google hangout sessions, your location history, the music you listen to, the Google books you’ve purchased, the Google groups you’re in, the websites you’ve created, the phones you’ve owned, the pages you’ve shared, how many steps you walk in a day ...

Click on this link to see your own data: google.com/takeout

It is possible to mess with these websites in non confrontational way -

I made comment last week about Facebook. I just ran my settings to see what they have gathered- not much in my opinion.

I have been using a VPN for last 9 mos. Prior to that rarely posted anything on Facebook - used to keep up with family activities

I mostly use to play games, relaxes me after shift at work.
My history shows me as quite the traveller- VPN I use allows me to change city I am logged into- I change every couple of days.

In addition I search for odd things on Facebook, example horology, baskets, clocks made from baskets.

You get the idea - a comment was made to many years ago- get in as many db as possible under different IDS as possible- when the comment was made I was neophyte in internet usage- as time passed I understood the beauty of the comment.

I have wide ranging interests- I search for odd things as I think of them, example submersible ultrasonic cleaners, solar panels, solar panels with storage devices.
submersible ultrasonic cleaners used with solar panels and storage devices.

When you are n many db harder to find or categorize what you are doing.

On facebook I have had offers of clocks for sale in Ireland and GB. I am in the US.

I have started extending this to youtube- wide ranging tastes in music and what I am interested to see. In music I have noticed that youtube has built mixes for me. So i have started to mess with the algorithm - listen to REO, Tut Taylor, Strauss, Beethoven, Molly Hatchet.

I get some very strange mix suggestions, so then I will listen to Judith Dunham, the Kempters, Charlie Daniels.

Followup with Earl Scruggs then try Dobro music , Greek music, then watch some repairing resonator guitars.

Make it hard for the jackboots to pigeon hole me.

Another suggestion on searches- have freepers suggest search terms for different browsers or applications. Make the algorithm chase their tail.

Someone suggests a search term, hit as many different db as possible, then quit after sometime.

Then move onto another search term. Since the requests are coming from many different addresses , db should not recognize as a threat. Just another request.

The point is to use the db parameters against itself.

Perhaps someone more savvy than myself can explain why would not work, as I have said I am neophyte in the internet age

They all gather pretty much the same amount of data.

The difference is that you and your data are Google's product and cash cow. Microsoft's product is software.

I use Apple products, and nothing showed up on my locations. Like you, I mostly use Google search, but I also go to YouTube. No Gmail or Chrome. There was a certain amount of search history, but it was not complete. I think it only tracks when you’re signed on to your google ID.

Google doesn’t even know my gender, but we all know that’s subject to change at a moment’s notice anyway. I’m going to check whatever other data they have on me later.

Google is evil, is there a lawyer out there brave enough to run a class action suit for invasion of privacy? I’d like to signup.

Why do you think FB and Zuckerberg are so rich? Just because they provide a free service for folks to keep up with family and friends (how nice!) and a few ads. Heck no.

any student will be able to be blackmailed at any time by some very bad folks
That’s the same reason the Obama government took over the student loan program.

Paging Justice Roberts, McConnell, Ryan and others. It becomes abundantly clear now.

You are on the right track.

They will collect the data—so you want to sabotage their efforts with as much garbage as possible.

Until .gov acts that is our best approach.

Oh, by the way, Facebook uses an algorithm to determine your political outlook (without your consent, of course):

They need to be banned and F___ needs some hard jail time.

#13 HA! I was kicked off for posting my 1st article about a diver rescuing a trapped crewman underwater when a ship sunk. My offense was posting too many words. That site has so many many many many blinking ads on it. You and everyone at that site were tracked.

“I know a number of small businesses that dropped their websites in favor a Facebook page.”

Our church did that. I was/am not happy about that. A person’s religion, chirch affiliation, etc., should be extremely private. Imagine comminicating relatively sensitive personal information with your pastor and then finding out that nothing is private.

“Why do you think FB and Zuckerberg are so rich?”

As I heard someone say this week, if you’re not paying for a product, you are the product.

“...Justice Roberts, McConnell, Ryan...”

I think we can safely add Trey Gowdy to that list now.

IIRC, a week or two ago he got all squishy about Hillary’s actions and crimes. Basically, “Leave Hillary alone.” I don’t recall exactly (sorry).
