Facebook dropped as much as 6.5 percent on Monday before paring its losses. Its shares have fallen 16 percent to $155.89 since the company disclosed the Cambridge Analytica matter.
“We have a responsibility to protect your data, and if we can’t, then we don’t deserve to serve you,” Zuckerberg told users in a post on Facebook last week. “I’ve been working to understand exactly what happened and how to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

The thought of anyone probing Mark Zuckerberg is too gross to contemplate.

To me, the scandal isn’t that Cambridge got the data. I’m not going to be fooled by anyone sending me political fake news. The scandal is how much data mining Facebook does on its members without telling them.

I think I see Steven Crowder at the controls of that Corsair.

What I don’t understand is the ability to mine data through facebook has been known for years.
Facebooks sole existence is to mine data for advertisers. Why are people shocked?
They thought facebook was some sort of honest internet company?

I would not lose any sleep over disconnecting Facebook.....
....if I could only figure out how!

Rush explained this today. Basicly, he’s in hot water because he let right-wingers use Facebook to mine for data. When Obama, et. al., did this in the past it was perfectly okay. It’s about the politics, not the data!

All this blow up just because Trump might, might have used some of this data when the Rats have been using all of it for years. What an absurd joke. If FB did not exist it would have made 0 difference in the last election it’s just ridiculous.
To: ptsal
Gotta love all the fake outrage. As if everyone didn’t know Facebook’s privacy issues, as well as social media and the internet in general. It was all good because Zuckerberg was a good little progressive, one of “us” (them). Once Trump tapped into the data, OMG, OMG! We need Congressional Hearings! New Privacy Laws!

I disagree, if facebook didn't exist Trump may have won by a much larger margin.

I’m sure the FTC will make sure that FB data will be safe and secure from now on.... for the DNC only.

The longer response:
We always understood the importance of advancing our data collection capabilities in order to make money. But now we understand it's equally important to keep that data out of the hands of anyone who can use it for conservative causes. We want users to feel safe letting us know everything about them and want you to know we are committed to making sure that people like Trump will not be able to abuse that data in the future. Your secrets are safe with us (and Pelosi, and Hillary, and anyone else who will use them correctly)
- Thanks, Zuck

How do you trust a guy who stabbed a friend in the back in the first place and has a record of doing so.
After all, aren’t they all Zudkerberg’s ‘friends’ on Facebook?
