It will be built better, quicker and cheaper by the military.

The suggestion that the military could do anything cheaper is downright humorous. How many $436 hammers are they going to need? And $70,000 ladders. And let's not even get to the coffee makers and toilet seats.

Thank the Congress for the ridiculous prices of hammers. My ex-wife was a “cost analyst” for Lockheed. It was a federally-mandated, non-productive expense. No matter if it was a missile system or a hammer, back in 1990, it cost $150,000 to do the federally-manadate analysis and justification for each acquisition, no matter how small.

Your examples make for great headlines, and I am sure make you feel smug, but are incredibly misleading and blame the wrong party.
