Thank the Congress for the ridiculous prices of hammers. My ex-wife was a cost analyst for Lockheed. It was a federally-mandated, non-productive expense. No matter if it was a missile system or a hammer, back in 1990, it cost $150,000 to do the federally-manadate analysis and justification for each acquisition, no matter how small.
Your examples make for great headlines, and I am sure make you feel smug, but are incredibly misleading and blame the wrong party.
And why would you think it any cheaper to use the same rules to build a wall as it was to build an airplane?
