WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump is tired of being told no.
Six weeks of staff churn and pronouncement shocks reflect a president who has grown increasingly confident on the job and more trusting of his instincts. After 14 months in the Oval Office, Trump is more comfortable bucking the advice of White House staffers and congressional Republicans, and that is increasingly putting even his allies on edge.
Trump may have an even more dramatic shake-up in mind for his administration.
The president has floated to outside advisers a plan to do away with the traditional West Wing power structure, including the formal chief of staff role, to create the more free-wheeling atmosphere he relished while running his business and later his presidential campaign at Trump Tower.
The sense of apprehension is palpable in the West Wing, where tempers are running short and uneasy aides discuss their future employment prospects behind closed doors, according to six White House officials and several outside advisers. They all spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the internal dynamics.

Well get what we voted for; its just a little harder with a congress run by dems and rhinos.

Not until we remove the weasels from office.
It’s really our job to drain the swamp and we are failing to do that.
After today does it really matter.
I was just thinking the same thing. I initially got herded in with all these others that have thrown in the towel on Trump.
It reminds of the same behavior reactions during the 2016 campaign. So much loser talk among the weak minds. This President is the first in a generation to show how to fight the left. Today he takes money for the military and agrees there’s to be money for all the left’s pet causes, but he’s the Chief Executive and the decision to spend or not to spend is his.
In less than a month’s time, today’s loser talk will be long forgotten.
We will see if he can redeem himself. I think he would have gotten military and more had he hung tough.
Trying to think of one good that can come of his wimpishness.
He has been hanging tough for 15 months in office. He does not have the support of the Congress. What he got today saved our military from absolute destruction. The cost was pet projects of the left and a slap for his wall.
He does not have to spend the money for lib goodies. He can pull PP money and OCare $ to fund the wall. This was not a budget. It was a grab bag and the president decides how to use it.
The swamp tried to drown Trump. Sunshine patriots are whining. This is not over. Not by a mile.
” according to six White House officials”
these should be the first six to be fired ...
Go trump
Drain the swamp
Screw all these D.C. fools
I so hope you are correct.
Agreed
The spending bill is only for the rest of this fiscal year, which ends 30 Sept 2018.
A Dem on tv last night said he’s happy that it funds SCHIP for 10 years.
AP is an uncredible propaganda fake news propagator
This is my take also. It is not a budget bill, but an authorization of funds.
The traditional mindset in DC is if the money has been allocated, it must be spent. Oh how many times was I sent out on frivilious purchases at the end of the year to exhaust the budget. The mindset is that money spent is justification for more money, plus a percentage more on top of that.
Both the House and Senate leadership got played. They showed all of us that they are not serious about suppporting the agenda proposed by the President many of us voted on. The democrats got played on DACA (However you look at it, it was not supported by them) They continue to lose that issue and it is empty words for them now.
The never trumpers got played on their hidden hatred for the Wall. COE got plenty of funds and they can get allocated soon.
The best thing is the $700 billion for the military. Much of those funds go right back into the economy. Capital equipment being built. Troops getting pay increases.
In the end, the Executive gets to decide how money will be spent. It will be fun to watch.
