I am pro-military(and served) but are the present threats to our notion so great that no cost was too much to bear for the immediate widespread refurbishing of our defense?

You weren't paying attention to how much Obama cut back and intentionally neglected upgrades and modernization to military ships, planes, weapon systems, etc.?

Trump absolutely made a promise to solve the problem. He keeps his promises.

With all due respect (despite your sarcastic assumption), you may misunderstand my argument.

I will stipulate our military was neglected via Obama's "remaking" term in office and in need of substantial refurb. Further, Trumps willingness to do so was an important point to most Aericans, especially those of us who voted for him.

Nonetheless, I think he missed a great, low-cost, low-risk opportunity to refuse to feed the beast and realize more of his campaign promises - which is of paramount importance to his base.

Pretty sure our active duty personnel could have pressed on for a few more politically critical months with what they have while Trump made significant political points that would turn more of the public and Congressmen to his views.

Have a nice weekend.
