Nonsense. He fulfilled a major campaign promise with this bill -- rebuild a military that has been depleted intentionally by Obama. This was the only way to get that done.
He's still using DACA as bargaining chip on the wall.
At what cost to his office?
I am pro-military(and served) but are the present threats to our notion so great that no cost was too much to bear for the immediate widespread refurbishing of our defense?
Could this bill have not have waited for a few months?
Could money have not been shifted around in the short term for critical items??
Could Trump have used a government shutdown as an opportunity to demonstrate to the public what was in play in the bill?
In short, were all the undesirable things others more knowledgeable tell us are in the bill, worth the price of immediate rehab of defense?
And, of course, what will be the political price of his "read my lips" action?
