Jesus said that “you are mine if you obey my words”, He also said “ take your cloak and sell it and buy a sword”.
Peter responded to the latter and said “we have two”, the Lord curtly stated “that is enough!”.
I believe all of His words are the infallible truth. So I have sold my coat and have a sword (or two). Wonder why the Lord directed ( not asked) his disciples to carry self-defense weapons on their daily journeys?
Peter responded to the latter and said we have two, the Lord curtly stated that is enough!.
The Greek word for "enough" indicates that the quantity present was sufficient for the task at hand. This particular translation doesn't convey that meaning. It sounds more like Jesus was annoyed.
