This is interesting news. Back in 2016, I asked anyone to come up with examples of lies that Cruz had told, and I was not surprised when no one could put forth a single example of something that would constitute a lie told by Ted Cruz. Many people tried, but when I ran down their claims, I discovered they were not actually true.
Now that you are here, you can resolve this conundrum for me by giving me an example of a lie that Ted Cruz told.
I'm thrilled that Trump won, and I think he has turned out to be a much more effective President than Cruz would have been, but I really don't see any point in people continuing to attack Cruz, especially when I have yet to see a substantiated claim against him.
Oh, and for what it's worth, I think if Cruz had won the nomination, we would have President Hillary. I think only Trump could have won this last election.
I remember Cruz was courteous towards Trump until he realized Trump could win.. Then he unleashed attacks and LIES on Donald Trump and his wife.. Donald Trump FOUGHT BACK and told the Truth about Lying Ted and his wife.. Do I remember the exact details off hand.. No.. I would have to go back and watch the vids and read the articles.. and after doing all of that you will still defend Ted because you obviously were blinded to the truth the first time around. Donald Trump was always fair.. Cruz was a RAT and a CREEP. It broke heart.. Cruz proved himself to be just like the rest of the Republicans.. LYING SOB’s!
Accusing Trump of supporting single-payer using out of context remarks of Trump saying something positive about single payer in Canada and Scotland...
"As far as single-payer, it works in Canada. It works incredibly well in Scotland."
and then Trump added, referring to the US,
"It could have worked in a different age, which is the age you're talking about here."
Cruz took this and tried to paint Trump as supporting single payer in the US.
He lost me at that point.
It wasn't a ploy that a Christian principled conservative would have used.
It was the tactic of a typical slimy politician.
Originally I had supported Cruz for President,
then when I saw how much more effective Trump was at attracting folks to the MAGA agenda
I began to see Cruz as a balance to Trump on a Trump/Cruz ticket.
His lie about Trump opened my eyes to his nature and I cast him off.
Perhaps he could still do good in the Senate but my hopes for him doing greater things vanished.
Here's someone else's take on it...
