I don’t think that will be necessary; the land, the equipment, and buildings will all deteriorate fairly quickly
given the “quality” of the new “owners.”

That's what British companies did when India declared independence (actually an interesting read). Rather than leave working machinery behind, they loaded it on boats and dumped it out at sea and for things like generators that were too large, they dumped sand into them to make them so they would never work again. They literally reduced India from a manufacturing economy to 3rd world economy overnight.

I’d leave the keys all right...broken off flush in the locks. Then when they finally got in they would find out what a Claymore mine is.
