Lie detector tests have been meaningless to me ever since an article in Photography magazine almost 40 years ago.
They baited three lie detector companies about a fictitious theft in the office and tole them they suspected “Bill” did it.
Two of them said he did it and the third said it was possible but inconclusive. Bill was not in on the ruse and nothing had ever been stolen.
One psychology instructor spoke a lot about the shortcomings of polygraph machines.
Lie detector tests are just electronic witch craft.
I took one in the late 70’s as part of a job interview; they asked me if I had a valid drivers license, I said yes, the machine said I lied.
Had it in my wallet and offered to show it, they told me the machine is never wrong.
Needless to say, I didn’t get the job.
They are not admissible in court.
Waste of time and money.
“Lie detector tests have been meaningless to me ever since an article in Photography magazine almost 40 years ago.”
Lie detectors are a big scam operated by charlatans and believed by suckers (and I know it as an electronics engineer with years of experience in medical devices design).
Penn and Teller has made a Bullshit episode about it.
