On Sunday, The Federalists senior editor Mollie Hemingway reminded mainstream media reporters, claiming that FBI Deputy Andrew McCabes firing was vindictive, that he was under investigation before Donald Trump became President.

Trump knew the FBI had been snooping on him and his campaign. NSA Director Mike Rogers told him when he went to visit him at Trump Tower after the election. I think President Trump wanted to give Comey a bit of rope so he could hang himself...and he did.
Since McCabe was career FBI, I believe Sessions took the most logical route, by letting the IG do an independent investigation to look for wrong-doing, then letting the Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) recommend he be fired. It was a disciplinary procedure handled through the normal channels. Had he simply been fired by Sessions without those steps, McCabe would have had grounds to sue for reinstatement. I'm not sure if there is any way for him to appeal his firing now since it was done according to the policies and procedures followed in disciplinary cases.
Having worked for a State correctional department myself, the only way you could be fired for work-related issues, was to be brought up on departmental charges, have a hearing in front of a (hopefully) independent mediator, and await the mediator's decision in the case. There was no option to appeal whatever decision he chose to issue. The State would follow through with whatever recommendation he/she made in the case.
I would have gone Scorched Earth to DC if I was President day one. What would anyone do, impeach? They are going to try that anyway and was always the plan since Clinton was not selected.
Having 500 Investigators and an unlimited budget would seem to clarify the IGs position. He is a political machine who keeps pushing back the date(s) to make more money. I would use the reasonableness test.does it take two years to make a Report? All evidence behind the report was turned over to Congress in Dec. 2017. So now after 3 full months we don’t have a written report. More BS and kicking the can down the road. The latest is, “should it be many small reports?”
Yeah, but unfortunately, public employees, even the scumbags are protected by (Civil Service) workers' rights and laws.
What experience do you have with any departmental IGs?
Maybe there's more evidence for further firings that have to be reviewed by the Office of Public Responsibility first, and he doesn't want to, or can't spill the beans beforehand.
(1) DOJ I.G. is an Obama appointee. He has no subpoena power against anyone outside of DOJ.
(2) A huge amount of the evidence is already in the public domain.
(3) Conservative writers have been calling for McCabe’s termination for at least a year.
(4) Several backbench GOP Congressman have been asking for a Special Prosecutor for at least six months.
(5) After McCabe was finally fired, Trump and Sessions did NOTHING to prevent the Leftist media and the Democratic Party from instantly seizing the political initiative.
So you are telling that “following the procedures” (Mr Magoo Sessions’ favorite excuse), it takes more than two years of investigation to fire (not even an indictment!) a certified scum like McCabe.
At such pace, Comey, Rosenstein or Mueller can live 7 lives before having to worry about FISA or Uranium One.
We are promised a swamp draining and all we get is a swamp emptied with a spoon.
None of that has anything to do with the methodology and timing of the IGs investigation.
Sweet knee jerk talking points though.
I was talking about McCabe. Comey, Rosenstein, and Mueller aren’t/weren’t career FBI employees. I can’t answer why Sessions hasn’t taken any steps to fire them. Then again...we don’t know that he hasn’t. Sessions isn’t one to publicize his moves. He plays his cards close to his vest. I’m willing to wait this out in hopes that whatever is done, is done right so it doesn’t come back and bite this administration in the a$$.
I thought McCabe was career FBI?
He was career FBI. Started in 1996.
Makes him a careerist!
Or just a really gung ho IRS auditor. :-)
OBAMA HIRED THEM. TRUMP CANNOT FIRE THEM. SO THEY SAY.
Senior Executive Service (SES) is ~10,000 Deep State shadow government employees who are sabotaging the American Republic for the globalist agenda.

None. Same as the last person you asked. apparently you like demeaning people who have different opinions. Nothing to do with facts.
IG has 500 Investigators. I only had 23. I still managed to make reports in accorance with court rules and procedures. I never thought it “material” to stop producing a report because new information came up. Issue the report. Then follow procedures for the new information and its own report. It works better that way when beholding to a Political Party.
There is No reason that information of two years of age should be withheld unless it is something that will never be public information. Save your whining. The Storm is coming “soon”.
I really dont GAS about what you say you have done. If you havent worked with or responded to an IG, you dont know what the hell you are talking about:
Great come back. if you don’t give a $hit why did you reply in the first place? There are only a few IGs in the entire country. No I haven’t responded to one. neither has anyone else. This IG has been on the job for over 5 years. Hasn’t done a dam thing. Now everything hangs on his “words”. It called buying time and baffling them with bullshit.
Re: “None of that has anything to do with the methodology and timing of the IGs investigation.”
You moved the goal posts, bean.
I was responding to your post that asked for a “point of reference” regarding how long something should take.
I gave you four points of reference.
The fifth point simply restated my original thesis - that Sessions and Trump have failed at every level on the issue of political corruption in the DOJ and FBI.
Knee jerk talking points?
LOL!
You were not aware of any of those points until I wasted five minutes of my life trying to keep you informed.
