President Trump on Sunday used his Twitter platform to try and discredit James Comey and Andrew McCabe, whose FBI careers were cut short amid acrimony over the Russian-meddling probe and how the bureau handled probes into the Clinton family.
Both men reportedly kept memos detailing their interactions with Mr. Trump, which could factor into Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of any ties between Russia and the Trump campaign, or fuel potential obstruction of justice charges against the president.
Mr. Trump downplayed their relevance on Twitter.
“Spent very little time with Andrew McCabe, but he never took notes when he was with me. I don’t believe he made memos except to help his own agenda, probably at a later date. Same with lying James Comey. Can we call them Fake Memos?” Mr. Trump said.
Mr. Comey, who was fired in May, told Congress he kept detailed notes on each of his interactions with Mr. Trump, including a meeting in which the president allegedly told the lawman to lay off former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who was ousted for misleading Vice President Mike Pence about phones calls with Russian

Mueller’s bias is why the Democrats are defending him. Both sides need to get publicly more honest about the struggle and quit pretending.
The President is doing just fine. No harm in speaking truth.

The seriousness of the charges only matters when it’s not a Democrat.
But if it is a Democrat no charges are ever really serious enough. Many flatly disallow anything as evidence of corruption that is short of an actual conviction.
This is why you’ll see progressives refer to all the allegations and charges made against Republicans but the lack of convictions where Democrats are concerned.
No convictions, no evidence.
Or no evidence, but any allegation ... really to roll ... even charges where there is no underlying crime will do.

While I agree that sometimes he should think a little longer before speaking his mind, and sometimes keep it to himself, I disagree on this one... Rather, I think it is essential that he be speaking his mind and defending himself. In general, others who defend him do not have much of a communications platform... His own defense of himself is probably the only defense of him that at least half of the country will hear at all.

You’ll have to go back to the days when Senator and Democrat nomination hopeful Gary Hart got caught changing his mind about offshore drilling to find those.
It was during the election of Clinton (another charismatic southerner with womanizing issues ... and so much more) that the press finally got it in their heads that they could swing elections for Democrats. From then until now it’s been a steady slide downhill for them. Nowadays the wagons circle themselves around Democrats.
How about when Hillary Clinton was questioned?
