Republican Rep. Charlie Dent (Pa.) said Saturday that the firing of Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe on Friday looked to be a "vindictive" move by the president.
In an interview with CNN, Dent said that while he would wait for the inspector general's report to judge McCabe, his firing looked like retribution from the White House.
"This firing looks a bit forced, a bit rushed. Candidly, it looks like retribution and a bit vindictive," Dent said. "And I think it's unfortunate. The man said he's resigning, you know, and on a Friday night before his 50th birthday he's fired to take away his pension? I don't like the optics of this, I really don't."
Dent added that he believed Attorney General Jeff Sessions was "browbeaten" into firing McCabe Friday night after weeks of public humiliation from President Trump.
"It looks like the attorney general may have been browbeaten into this, he's been publicly humiliated and shamed by the president on multiple occasions, and I just don't think this bodes well."

There are times when I despise our side every bit as much as I despise their side.
Why do we always do this???
Independent investigation. Independent review leading to a recommendation.
This man is a moron.
Guess hes not really waiting on the IGs report then is he?
Because a lot of people on “our” side are actually on their side and always have been.
I don’t know anything about Charlie Dent or his politics. But what he is spouting is the typical cowardice we see out of the Republican Party. Most of them have no guts.
“Why do we always do this???”
I agree———”they” stick together like glue no matter what happens.
.
Everyone forgets the FBI, McCabes peers recommended firing.
Just desserts
Sounds like another Republican working hard to lose the House in November.
It Should feel like retribution and there are plenty like him deserve as much and more.

Search Pennsylvania, House, Republican. Ol' Charlie Dent is at the bottom with the lowest rating.
OPR recommended termination, Sessions carried it out. Not rushed, same material caused Wray to offer McCabe a job in the cafeteria if he wanted to stay on, which prompted McCabe to give his retirement notice. Took OPR a few weeks to review the same evidence and compose a recommendation. McCabe had an opportunity to plead his case, and sessions had a couple days to deliberate on the case. Had to be complete before McCabe retired, but McCabe is the one who chose his retirement date.
Still not understanding why Comie, McCabe and a bunch of others in the FBI/DOJ have not already been arrested and awaiting trial.
John McCain must be in really bad condition this weekend.
Otherwise, he would be making statements of ‘worry and disdain’ via his daughter and the media.
He is a deliberate liar. Lack of candor himself.
Because leaking classified information and lying under oath are no big deal, right Skippy?
Actually I left the Republican party just because of comments such as these. I came back to vote Trump in the primary, but really I have NO affection or respect for the republican party.
Republicans are privately hoping the Dems win back Congress and then they can comfortably go back to enjoying their donor and lobbying perks again. All the while running on conservatism and encouraging conservatives to donate to the RNC or any one of the conservative PACs that have fleeced conservatives out of their money for decades. They have never been comfortable being the majority party.
